2nd tank feed for 2 man set up
« on: November 04, 2018, 07:07:50 am »
Am I ok splitting the single tank outlet and just putting a T piece in the line then running it to a separate pump and controller or will it affect the original water flow on the other pump, I’d put a separate outlet on my tank but it’s a 650 upright so no chance of getting into the bottom of it!?

Yes. We have done it with a 650 liter tank for 12 years.

Its better than the yellow tops of the Numax. That was an Orange Leisure battery in name and colour. I had had such a bad run on leisure batteries on my trailer system I decided that I needed to buy a battery from a caravan/motorhome outlet. My decision was based on desperation and that they should at least stock a good battery.

Orange was the only brand they had in stock, so I bought it. I later purchased another 85amph for my son's van when we kitted that one out for him.

That battery lasted 3 years and the smaller battery 4 years in son's van. Then we got involved with Numax.

Looks a nice tidy set up , pumps are very high up don’t you have any problems with that ? Always thought they should be as low as possible?

If you use the same inline filters, then I personally find trapped air isn't an issue.
However I don't have my pumps high, but I have disconnected my main hose from my tank for numerous reasons and this will give you trapped air.
A slight turn of the clear lid on the filter, whilst running the pump, untill the lid is full of water and hence releasing the air. At least between tank and pump. From pump till the brush, just open all connections until the air empties through.

Thanks pal that pic is exactly how I’ve split my tank outlet with a drain tap on the end too, I was just concerned about one getting more water than the other!

No problem at all. You just have to make sure all the connections on the suction side are tight.  A Shurflo pump will suck water easily as its head is 12'. If there is an air leak then it wouldn't suck properly.

My son's van has a 500 liter tank and the pump is mounted on the bulkhead above the top of the tank.

BTW, that drain tap is a waste of time.
