Best Gardiner Brush to use at 60 +feet heated water
« on: October 23, 2018, 07:35:33 pm »
Hi everyone,  I have been using ionics for years and now have discovered Gardiner.  What a difference.  I am having to upgrade my 65ft to the gardiner 70 foot +.  There are so many brushes.  Any advice on best brush for working at that height with 45 degree heated water? Any advice warmly welcome as it is such a big investment. Jack

Glad your enjoying working with our WFP products.

When working at 70ft many users find it useful to have a slightly wider brush for increased stability - so something like the 35cm Ultimate Medium Soft (suitable up to 45°C) or the 35cm Ultimate stiff (suitable up to 75°C)  would give this stability without much extra weight.

I use the xline mono brush on my normal pole, but would use the ultimate stiff with hot water on my 60 ft pole

Interesting.  On my 47 I use extreme regular size.   Thought the lighter the better for extended heights for better control and handling.

Is the heavier wider brush really better?  Am I missing something?

IMO you want the lightest brush you can buy at those heights esp if cleaning at angles(skylights, solar panels,etc)......xtreme range of brushes(standard or wider brushes)......
price higher/work harder!

Generally speaking I would agree that using the lightest possible brush at heights is the best option. Brushes such as the Xtreme & Xtreme 35cm are really good on longer poles & would be my choice up to about 55ft.

However the question was regarding working at above 60ft with a 70ft pole.

At these top end heights we have found that many clients are not so worried about exact weight but rather control on the glass becomes more important. The extra width allows for greater stability on the buildings surface and reduces the effort needed to keep the brush head against the glass.

At 60-70ft it is rare for poles to be walked around with for much distance. Most time is spent with the brush head on the glass or resting against the building.

The Ultimate pole which is our only fully telescopic pole at above 64ft is not our lightest pole in any case - at these heights strength & control are as important as the exact weight of pole.

Of course the exact brush choice of each worker at 60ft+ will vary depending on working method & the exact nature of the building being cleaned. I do know of some of our clients who use a 45cm brush at these heights with the Ultimate pole as they prefer even more stability & greater glass coverage.

Exactly as Alex says.

were possible I always use the bigger brush head as lots more accuracy, I was advised against using the big brush head but have had no probs at all,  as wen moving about the pole gets lowered so takes the strain off.

24" gooseneck is also a real winner

Personally I think working at that height and we do a lot of that kind of work  we use a supream stiff as we use hot water , I have tried the wider brushes and while they may offer a wider more stable platform they certainly loose a lot of scrubbing power as they are wider reducing the pressure you can apply to the glass this is especially notisable when trying to remove seagulls poo from 7 and 8 storey windows

Up to 50ft I favour  a 35cm extreme, compromise the extra little bit of weight for stability over a 12 inch extreme and time saving benefit cleaning the glass
