Im not sure I understand what you mean about entering payments but would be greatful if you could explain a bit futher
In george when i open it i can see all the customers.
If i double click a name it brings up there details like when they were last cleaned, when they are due and payment i just tick for done and anither box for payment.

All i need is a list 4 weeks after the last job was completed no matter when it was done or what round it was on, that thrown in with some weeklys and fortnightlys on the same round.

If you look at the way George presents the work for you in the job list that is just about perfect.

The only thing about George i dont like is not being able to input if tthe customer paid by cash or cheque, i see this as a vaery important aspect of keeping job records.

Also the ability to print an invoice a couple of weeks down the line , when a customer asks for one after completion and payment

Ok I see what you mean. With WCP all you need to do is find the customer in the round, click maintain an this will give you a full breakdown of every clean, debt payment and write off for the account. There is a button to see the overall stats for the client and again a button to add a clean. Fill in the amoutn charged, the amount collected and the payment method (if applicable) and thats it  :)

Anyway I do hope that you will try the software out again and in the meantime am always happy of any advice you have to give.

Thanks

Ian

Hi David,

The way WCP will work in the next couple of days is the ability to define jobs each with their own schedule. This will be reflected in the schedule module and will enable you to see instanly what you have to do and what is overdue. We have steered away from a calendar based view as I beleive this is to restrictive and gone for a coloured coded interface where you are in control of when you want to clean certain jobs.

With WCP you not only can track the payment methods but you can also define your own ones. As for invoice and reciepts, once they are raised on the system, you can re-print them as many times as you like.

Thanks

Ian

  Ian,

Why don't you start a new topic on what we would like to see in a Software
program, this way you can tweek your program to meet everyones needs.

I just use excel and keep on tweeking my data base to my needs, things
change all the time. That's oly because I know most of the formulas.

  Just a thought.

Ian,

Frequency is a real headace!!!!!

I built a Lotus Approach Database for my round.
I went to a freind who, like you is a computer wiz.  He uses Microsoft Visual Basic and Access.  The major problem was trying to generate a "Due Date".

I have two Rounds:

1.  Commercial.  Weekly and fortnightly shops.  Each shop can have a monthly cycle.  Eg.

1st week         Shop and paint
2nd week         Shop front
3rd week         Shop in and out
4th week          Shop front

To further comlicate matters.....1st week is 1st week of the month.  It is a monthly cycle not 4 weekly so.........every 3 months I have a 5th week!!!!

If you can sort this out....................you are a geniuose!!!!!!!!

Hi David,

I dont think I could live up to the name genius (or even whizz kid for that matter  ;D) but I do think that with our experince from a business growth point of view that software id the way forward when trying to increase your bottom line.

WCP will schedule jobs based on days and so its up to you how many days you want to leave in between. The schedule module presents you with a colour coded list of all the rounds/jobs that are overdue, due and not due so you can control what jobs you want to do and when.

It wopuld be interesting to see if the software meets your specific needs and I would be more than happy to hear your feedback

Thanks

  David,

There is a formula for excel, not sure if it the same as Lotus which will
  calculate due date.

Without looking at the software it's hard to say but I was woindering if those jobs with more complicated cleaning cycles could be set up as a separate, very small round?  Failing that, I suppose there is always the low tech way.  It's called a pen   ;D

On my MSWorks database, I get the due date by setting up a separate field which gives the result of  <lastcleaneddate> + <frequency> (in days)  e.g. 27/6/2006 + 42(6 weeks) = 8/8/2006.  I don't know if this is so with all databases but dates and numbers can be mixed fairly freely.  This is because a date is stored as a number even though you don't see it displayed that way.

After the biggest headache I have had in ages  :'( I have finally update the software so that the frequency is set against the job instead of the round. I have also moved duration to the job level.

You can read up on how scheduling now works on our websites forums under Latest News.

Anyone downloading WCP will get the new version, everyone who already installed WCP will be asked next time you open whether you want to install the updates?

Have a play and let me know what you think

Thanks

Hi
I have been playing with this software.
But i want to know if it is possible to print the screen i am looking at.
Instead of per customer.
So in my round viewing i have active and quotes on the same page, but i would also like to print the page or part of it.

Let me know if this is possible (Its the only reason so far stopping me buying it)

Hi David,
Find the customer, either on the round screen or the job search screen. You will see a maintain button, click that and the job history window will appear. In the middle bottom of the window there is a button that says 'Add Clean'. Click that and enter your details.

Hope that helps, if not send me a mail and Ill walk you through it

Hi David,

Im working on this right now and should be done this evening. The other option is to go to the schedule where you will see all your rounds. THere is a + box on the far left which when clicked expands the rounds and shows all the jobs, you can select the jobs you want and print a work list.

The only thing about this list is the fact it does not show quotes.

just an idea , wouldnt it have been better if when you doubled clicked a job it went straight to the cleaned/paid box instead of going through 3 different boxes to get there , also where you enter how much was paid , it would be a good idea to have a written off and tips button,

Sometimes when i have turned up at a job, i have not been paid the full amount for various reasons so i just write it off.

I will keep casting my beady eye over things

Let me know when you have finished working on it.

Only it does look a good pice of kit.

But on my round list i always print off the active with the people i have quoted.
So i can call on them when re doing round.
To do this now i have to use excel .

I see. The system will also raise an alert 5 days before you are due to clean the round if it has any quotes on it an lets you know that the round is due, has quotes and you should phone them up to see if you can convert into paying customers.

here is an ex of why it is best to have the write off button on the done / payment screen.

I send colleague to knock on door to collect money, i say to him its say £32.00, later that day i say have you got the money he says yes heres £30, i say damn i told you it was £32.00 never mind,

I will not go back or mention this Shortfall to the customer, i just write it off and am more carefull next time, so when i get home,

i click job done ,
job paid £30.00
£2.00 written off
