how long are your xtreme brushes lasting?
« on: September 26, 2018, 06:49:34 pm »
im getting about  6-8 weeks out of mine(and thats not using them every day!).i use the stiff versions due to hot water.....and after this time their knackered..all bristles splayed out of shape etc.....i also use the stiff ultimate brushes and these are lasting slightly longer at around 12 weeks..IMO the xtreme brushes should be around a tenner for the time they last! ;D

Xtreme brushes are perhaps not for everyone, but I like my kit as light as possible. I use an Xtreme 22 pole as my everyday pole and find the Xtreme brush to be a perfect match for it. Without trying, I find that I work faster with this combination.
I also find that though the Xtreme brushes may not last as long, say as an Ultimate, they do last me a decent time considering the amount of work they do. I find that they are a worthwhile tool, for me at least.

I’m currently trialling a DuPont version which is very nice. Much better on leaded glass IMHO than any other mono brush I’ve tried, and I’ve got a lot of these on my round. As for longevity, I can’t say yet but I’ve been using it for a month now and it’s still in very good shape.

i have a fair amount of estate work that have lots of awkward angle windows due to extensions and conservatories so the xtreme brush is ideal.i have to have my 25 ft pole at full extension for some windows.most other work i use the ultimate brush which i find a good compromise between an xtreme and SL.....

i have loads of superlite brushes from years ago......the thing is they dont feel "superlite" anymore(more like a brick on the end of my poles)and their a lot more hardwearing too....

One side of my Xtreme brushes always flares out, obviously from the angle I clean at being right handed. Guessing left handed cleaners find the opposite side flares out...

You can always flip the brush round Daz, that’ll make it last longer...

I take twelve weeks off in a five star hotel, that way my brushes last three months longer.

Brushes are like smartphones.

You really really don't need to keep changing them, but when the manufacturer keeps bringing an 'upgraded' model out who are you to refuse the opportunity?

It still cleans glass just like the latest one did 5 years ago.

I don’t get it. Xtreme’s don’t last long but every other brush lasts for years.

hot water knackers brushes prematurely i find.....even the ones that are supposed to be able to withstand hot temperatures dont last long.....

Doesn’t mean the manufacturers need to keep coming up with new designs though. Essentially a brush with bristles on it is a brush with bristles on it.

I've been using the extreme hybrid for probably 6 months and it still looks new.

The stocks a bit battered but the bristles are in great nick.
