bird strikes.....
« on: September 05, 2018, 06:12:08 pm »
most of the time my hot pure water gets them off but sometimes not!today was a typical example....the customer told me about the 2 bird strikes on the  back bedroom window...."no problem!"i replied....gave the window an extra scrub and rinse and when i finished she said "one of them is still there!"sure enough i went upstairs to have a look from inside and it looked like id not scrubbed the window at all!

it must be the greasy residue off the birds feathers as it only came off after a squirt of virosol.... ::)roll ;D

also have you noticed that skylight windows take longer than you think to get them clean too?.....
price higher/work harder!

All depends upon which bird caused the strike. Owls for example have very dry/soft plumage won't make so much. Ducks etc. have oils in their plumage for boyancy and cause greasy marks. Swans and Geese go right through the window generally, wrens tend not to do  ;D

I keep a tub of bio washing powder handy for things like birdstrikes, and egg etc.

Works very well.

I also find that sky lights can be a pain to clean and not as easy as ones think. I normally start on these windows and once I've finished cleaning the rest ofthe windows, I would go back and clean them again and that normally works for me
