I have watched loads of my mates split or get divorced and none of them seem happy.  I have been married for over 41 years and known her for over 43 years and it was the best thing I did IMHO :D

Absoloutely.

Its like not having car insurance and hoping you will never have an accident, a high percentage of marriages end in divorce, we all think it will never happen to us, our relationship is unbreakable etc etc...

Ok...just wait till the lying cheating bitch  buggers off with someone else and takes you for everything you own....

might change your tune  ;D

Relationships only break up for one of two reasons:

1.  Too much drink involved.
2.  It's not big enough.

You don't strike me as a drinker, Gomo.

The problem people seem have is is rushing into things too quickly, or marrying out of necessity (oops where gonna have a kid let’s get married).

If you choose right, then it’s something you’ll never regret. Make the choice to marry your best friend and you’ll never go wrong.

Me and Dave are as happy as Larry.

Larry and George are miserable too.

I married when I was young at 22 and 12 yrs later she did dirty. We were great together to begin with etc etc but she was younger than me at 19. We were both finding our feet and kids came along so we were soon mum n dad and lost the husband n wife part  (no not in closeness/physically but in the sense of not buying loads of time out for us, as our times were family time) .   I personally think being too young and starting families (planned or unplanned) can cause much heart ache n breakups.
Several yrs later I'm back to being married with kids again and it's great, stressful at times and worrying with kids but great. First experience makes you stronger and later in life you know more about yourself and what you want/likes are. But if you wait too long you will miss out on great partnerships and the joy of parenting.

My Mrs just helps by kicking me out the door to get some work done  ;D ;D and sorts my accounts
