Aquadapter dribbling
« on: August 28, 2018, 03:41:48 pm »
Hi all.
I've just replaced my aquadapter on a brand new slx18 so all is new but for some reason after stopping the water with the aquadapter, water seems to dribble out of the brush for a few minutes. Presume it's an airlock but any advise would be appreciated.
Regards Bob.

Re-check all connections are pressed home. If not then maybe get your prostate checked out?

Aquadapters work on a ball valve. It could be that a bit of thread tape or something like that has got stuck inside the cone of the ball valve. The only way is to take it apart and see if you can see anything.

We had a bit of thread get inside and that was the problem. How did the thread get inside the pipe? I haven't a clue. The only other place for it to leak is at the inlet. If this is a new problem with the change of pole then it could well be the supply pipe isn't pushed in as Malc says.

Are you using the right hose for the Aquadapter?

You say its dribbling out of the brush.  If its dribbling out of the jets in the brush then its an issue with the stop valve.

If the water is leaking from the base of the pole then the issue will most likely be where the pole hose goes into the Aquadapter. The yellow hose Gardiners sell as pole hose doesn't work even with a pipe insert fitted. We've tried it.

We did have a new Aquadapter where water was leaking from the valves actuator shaft but Steve replaced it with a new unit.
