My Univalve stopped working this morning. It was from the first batch so must be nearly 2 and a half years old.  It failed to shut the water off. I replaced it with a spare I ordered more than a year ago to get me going again.

I opened the old one and the tiny O ring on the valve section had come off the shaft. I might glue it back into its groove and put it back in service to see if that was just a one of failure.

I just send mine back when they do that and they just service it and resend it back out I’m lazy

But they’ve lasted over two years now

Mine are still going strong, bought 4 from the first lot he brought out, fingers crossed they all still work fine!

It’s a shame we can’t source replacement orings.

They are a unique size so we can’t just buy them off the shelf. That’s the only part that seems to fail on them.

Saying that I’m happy to suppprt steve with a purchase every 2 or so years.

I’m Hoping he brings out a better slick connect soon. I’m still Using them, but they are  just far too brittle.

im still on my first univalve(it must be over 2 years old now used every day!) and it gets used with 60c water!great product!i have a spare one for when this one gives up the ghost though....

I use Gardiners taps too. Ours are taped to the pole. I doubt we go through more than 3 a year on 6 poles.

I suppose I’m scared to try it lol , Iv got used to taps. I may try one though soon.
Also , my gooseneck is jammed in my slx - will this make a difference to fitting it?

The problem I have is the red connectors which go into the tap keep snapping and then get jammed in the tap so have to throw the tap as well

Don’t use the connectors. We don’t. Just clip the hose in.

Don’t use the connectors. We don’t. Just clip the hose in.

Sorry - not sure what you mean there pal - how do you fit hose reel hose or pole hose into a tap?

I think 8 weekly means that he doesn’t use the red hose barbs that you’re using on your tap, he just puts the hose straight into the push fit connectors on the tap.

In fairness, I have poles that use the barbs (metal), and some that go straight into the push fit...cant say I really get a problem with either.

I designed a bracket and clamp to hold a stainless steel ball valve made 12 so far still going strong after 2 years

I agree with Daz, the univalve is one of the greatest innovations of wfp!! I urge you to fit one and guarantee you'll agree too!😃👍
