Melting Concrete with hot water!
« on: August 02, 2018, 08:23:41 pm »
As the heading really!

Is it possible to get rid of spray rendering over spray with WFP?  - Hot or Cold would do. Currently only have cold but might look to upgrade to hot if that has properties that I'm unaware of.

Thoughts or Info Guys?

I'll bite first I suppose.

I've successfully cleaned concrete splatter off windows using hot water, not luke warm or tepid but Hot!
That's using a good dual trimmed brush or allowing the hot water to soften it and then using my finger nail just to scrape off.

Thankfully I've not hear anything back from the chap after I messaged him back.
But I have continued to use this method without incidents as I did for the chap who tried it on

Hot water will remove concrete splatter as long as it's not big clumps.....it also removes dried on egg on upper windows and frames  without having to get the ladders off(after a good soak)
price higher/work harder!

Depends on the mix, three parts sand to one part cement firmly placed on the glass and hot water wont touch it, if its been watered down with very little cement left then hot or cold will remove it, either way its full of grit and by brushing it off you risk scraping the glass, Nathans customers have found this out to their cost.
As for egg on upper window frames, well in twelve years on wfp Iv never had that problem so i cant say if it it helps or not.

I wouldn’t want to remove it with wfp as there is a high possibility of scratching the glass making the situation worse and the customer holding you responsible

Again Hot water makes light work at removing egg. I had one the other day where several eggs were thrown on a downstairs bay window, as well as splattering the white frames, several days ago. The owner was in and asking what they can give me to help get the egg off. Haha I first told them that they could have washed it off when it first happened as that would have been a big help! Apart from that, nothing they could do and that I can easily remove it.
They were very impressed with the result, which was all done purely with Hot water and it didn't really add much time to the clean either

We use hot water and can remove egg but it is very greasy and generally spray with virosol first to help desolves it find that works well but hot on its own struggles to remove any thick greasy products the same is true of kebab that has been smeared on shop windows or chip fat
