Resin quality update
« on: August 01, 2018, 12:20:30 pm »
It's been discussed before but it's now due to see people views on the quality of resin again over the last few month.

My last bag of tulsion 115mb was pants and only lasted one third of its usual time.

What's peoples views of resin brands these days?

Also do you report bad bags to your supplier?

ive found mb115 has generally got worse and worse the last few years, ive got mine from the usual places like daqua gardiner pure freedom etc.
i finally decided to go 4040 ro turn of this year and i havent looked back.
did get a bag from gardiner last time i bought some and the sack they deliver them in was fine but the plastic bag looked all melted although the resin seemed ok in the inner clear bag!

another thing to consider lately though is the possibilty of your tap ppm going up with the water situation but generally my opinion of 5-6 years using resin is the quality isnt as good as it used to be.
that black stuff was shocking when there was a big shortage a while back too

It doesn't quite help, but my water comes out at the moment at 009, so I don't even bother with resin. Some how, when it's heated up my reading in van tank can be 011 and I don't have any problems.

For ones who are using resin, what's your tds going into resin (output from RO)? and have you tried not using resin??

I was just going to do a post on this after a discussion on FB.
Someone said his resin was lasting  half the time it used to. I replied saying I didn't have a problem.
Went and tested my water and its lasted 2 months. It normally lasts me about 5.
I use 2x 25ltr RO tanks. Always have. Tap TDS Is the same as it always is.
Last sack was Tulsion 115
The quality is rubbish

Just noticed IONICS is selling there own brand. Tested for quality. Anyone used it

I haven't used my WFP since May 2012. When I moved back to this area, the local joke of a window cleaner had gave WFP such a bad name it was impossible to pick up work that would let me use it so we reverted back to ladders.

I have now picked up a load of houses that the upper windows are only accessible with WFP, so had to look out the old omnitrolley rebuild it, new battery, pumps fine,  old 18ft universal pole which will be replaced soon and the old brick of a brush, that was replaced today with a super light from daqua and my two di vessels.

While I was at daqua I discovered he was out of resin which got me into a bit of a panic as the resin in my di vessels has not been used since 2012 and the two part opened bags of resin I have had since same time, fearing the resin in vessels  and bags would have spoiled I tested both vessels,  1 reads 3 ppm the other 4 ppm was so relieved and have produced 200lt for tomorrow, so even after 6 years it is still purifying. Tulsion 115

I don't even think ladders have feathers. Why would you pluck them?
