Yes I want paying and yes he should owe. Clients have to take some responsibility on paying for the service/services they use.
I cleaned his windows and left a note on how to pay and how much he owes. It was dated, photographed and film me posting it. Therefore proof of requesting money and that's as far as I will go. Prior to this, each clean is followed by a card saying the windows are cleaned and how to pay.
So I wait for them to contact me, failing that they get a John Higgins letter
(Mod note: He means Thomas Higgins ) in post and it's amazing how quick they pay.
All my customers know I dont collect in the evenings, Old customers know their choices in how to pay. New customers are easy, as its GoCardless or someone else to clean. So far no one has questioned paying by direct debit out of my new work. It's just my stubborn old clients who don't want to change
