I’ve heard others say 95% is near shot. You definitely ought to be 5/6.

So you think I should get a booster to increase the psi and this will give me a lower TDS after membrane?

Will this also extend the life of the membrane as reducing from 012 to 004 alone wouldn’t really be worth the outlay for the booster pump for me.

I’d definitely speak to PF and do your sums. Currently I’m not using resin at all.

It's a new membrane, so depending on how much water you are producing the output TDS probably will come down a few more ppm over the next few days.

95% is the minimum your membrane should be operating at.

I’m ordering a new one tomorrow, I’ve got about 410 in and about 29/30 out (I’ve let mine slide a bit more than I would normally though, and it is nearly 3 years old)

For £900+ I’d hope they sold you a pressure guage with your RO set up, so whats your ingoing pressure?

My last membrane was a HF5 (low pressure), I still needed to buy a booster anyway as my water pressure was too low.

Yes to all of the above and you’ll get faster production.

And going from 12 to 4ppm would be worth the outlay imo, it’ll save you alot on resin in the long run

I spoke to Doug today , he said you should start looking at a new membrane when the tds coming out is 20 or above

TDS out is down to 6ppm now it’s had a couple of fills through it.

Yes there’s a pressure gauge on it and the psi is anywhere between 50-60 depending on what water is being used in the house.

This is being run from an outside garden tap which also has a quite a big leak until I can plumb it straight from the main supply at the weekend so I’d expect a constant 60-70psi going forward.

He would say that though wouldn’t he! That’s like the really annoying Dreams advert that says you should replace your mattress every 8 years regardless of condition. 😂

I reckon beds and mattresses are an age related affliction. We got a new bed and mattress about 4 years ago, but I keep going into John Lewis and trying out a mattress there that is an almost obscene price, but oh my god it’s amazing.
