Ionics linear filters
« on: July 18, 2018, 02:47:37 pm »
Just wondering , has anybody succesfully refilled one of these with resin ?, it appears to be a sealed unit but seems wasteful to just throw away .

They are designed as a sealed unit, to be replaced for another sealed unit . I don't find the process user friendly at all. I'm  looking changing to the standard bag resin. This would involve changing the housings.

Seems very wasteful to just dump the housing , when its spent im going to try and work out a way of doing it .

The filtering housing also has a habit of splitting rendering them useless. Ionics blames this on high water pressure. They are tested to 130, my pressure is a max of 70. I have had 4 split on me.

We have done away with the ionics Di filter as they only hold 6 ltr we now use a 25 ltr Di vessel works far better as the linier ionics filters don’t work well that’s why they now stand them up on end instead of horizontal , also works out far cheaper
