The gun slinger
« on: May 29, 2018, 03:38:50 am »
Have you heard of it and whats your opinion?

Ive recently heard of this and first glance im not a fan but at 2nd glance.............. I  can see it has many advantages

But then I dont understand (mostly the  Americans) why ones need to carry such an artillery of trad equipment with them.  In the many years of trad work that I did, i carried 2 squeegees a 14 inch and a 18 inch one. Then just one mop, an 18 inch unger waterwell T bar with the green/white sleeve.
Thats all I needed and a spray bottle for leaded windows.

Haven’t watched the videos, but in response to your last question,

When I was trad, all I used was an applicator, 14 inch squeegee and a bucket. Oh and of course a ladder. I had no need to BOAB or any other nick knacks, for 8 years that served me perfectly.

I’ve never understood why these people go out looking like there about to go to war. I kept it simple, so did my work mate, we flew round!

We used to have stanly blades in the van ready for concrete bird muck, and that’s about as ‘accessorised’ as we got!

because american window cleaning is different than UK window cleaning nathan......

americans expect everything to be cleaned off the glass inside and out(paint, hard water staining, etc) and they only have them cleaned once or twice a year(and pay a lot more for it too)they also have screens which have to be removed and are usually cleaned too.....

basically every clean is a first clean/builders clean inside and out and americans expect very high standards of service for their money.

price higher/work harder!

Funnily enough mine  arrived today it took 2 months to turn up though,a great bit of kit imo. It was ordered at the end of March,if you order one make sure you get the extra sling on the outside of the bucket for a small or extra squeegee or cloth. The amount of traditional stuff I do now I’ll get away with just the gunslinger as you can put a cloth in it if needed.

I'm all for trying out new things and I quite like the look of the Gunslinger but is it really £75 and postage from the states?
Think I will pass.
