if money is tight its ok to start you off however id want to secure the tank down with at least another ratchet strap (and a fixed reel in the van)...oh and a controller as 400L wont last long on full flow.....

Nathan. Have you posted this to show just how cheap and bare bones simple a system can be ? .....  I suspect you're not  . Tbf though it does illustrate perfectly what's needed. Everything else is just bells and whistles. I started with an almost identical set up. With the exception of a flow controller and scr and decent mounted hose reel I'm not that different now. Still use ratchets but beefier and more adequately anchored. I'd have the battery strapped down too but that's it.

I had similar and sent employees out in it, but gradually I was becoming uncomfortable with the safety in the event of an accident and the fact that it looked amateurish when charging decent prices and working out of new vans.

each to their own but im not a tinkerer like some of these guys...i cant be arsed fannying around with bits and bobs bought off ebay.some of them do it as a hobby which is cool but id rather spend more and get a better system (and enjoy my free time doing something else)....better tank/frame/hose reel,pump etc....and better poles....to make my job as easy as possible.....

As long as the water coming out of the brush is pure it doesn't really matter what kind of set-up your using. Hopefully it's anchored down and reliable, job done.

I both agree and disagree. A Rolls Royce is a car but so is a Ford Escort they both move along roads. I wouldn't call someone's car a pile of trash nor would I call someone's system a pile of trash. If it works and it's safe then indeed why thaasaaands?
Though he should fit another rachet strap at least, and strap down the battery.

to a certain degree its false economy to go too cheap with your van and system if your planning to be cleaning for the forseeable future......unless you like changing your van and bits and bobs every few years......

The tank ? the pump ? the battery ?
If you want cheap and reliable then this really is it, anything else is just frills ( and more to go wrong )
The only two benefits to a professionally built system is a secure tank and looking nice.
The former being of great value for peace of mind and safety and the latter being of no significance or value .

I agree that you dont need to have a full van install from a company in order to be a wfp window cleaner.
However sometimes I wish I did, just for the relative ease of a quick fill up when im parked up.  For now I rely on the 450gpd RO filling up the Ibc tank and then when I'm ready I can fill my van tank in less than five minute.  Obviously I can upgrade the Ro for a 4040 system if I chose to do so.
My van system is a DIY from pure freedom but when I open my van doors, it looks tidy, presentable and professional for the task at hand.
Im pleased with my diy electric reel (purefreedom reel) and my microbore hose that I connect my rhino red pole hose to inorder for me to use my slx pole n brush. I dont think I would feel the same pulling out a cheap plastic hose reel with a standard garden hose connected to it and I would be in a hurry to shut the van doors so no one saw.
Theres cheap and theres cheap! But cheap doesnt mean it cant better organised
