Ah, it’s a regular 8 weekly service only I’m afraid. I did point that out to you very clearly when you stopped me in the street and would not have cleaned your roof otherwise as those services are only for our regular customers. I will remove you from our round and wouldn’t be interested in cleaning your windows in the Autumn I’m afraid as it’s a regular service only.

I hope you had a good holiday. It’s a regular 8 weekly service. I’ve just checked and you were emailed the day before for access as per our agreement. In general it’s every 8 weeks but if there’s building work or if you’re away we’re happy to skip a clean but obviously we need to be advised if this is the case.

he obviously didnt care and just wanted an "ad hoc" service......and turned a blind eye to your "regular" agreement...

as long as you get paid for the work you ve done then ........just move onto your next job....annoying yes but its not as bad as cleaning someones windows and not getting paid(first clean too!) which has happened to me recently....the only saving grace is its only a £10 job and she will have to hide from me every month for the foreseeable future as i clean nearly every other house on the street.....

A window cleaner near me has a technique to solve this problem.
As an example;
Regular clean (1-3 months) £20
Any less frequently (or one-off) £30

So, he charges the all customers (including regular ones) £30 for the first clean.

Then he gives £10 credit for the next clean. That way if a cheeky one tries to pull the “oh yeah it’s regular” then cancels stunt, he’s been paid properly anyway.

Personally I don’t like it, because he’s inconveniencing honest customers because of the duff ones.

Standard. Just charge double for every first clean, you don’t get duped that way. First cleans should be charged double whether they are going to be a regular or not, as they are mostly a lot dirtier and will therefore take longer.

some first cleans i charge more for.it depends though how dirty the windows are or how much im charging them in the first place.im more likely to clean a larger property at the normal maintenance clean price(which is high anyway)than a cheap  smaller property...

the £10 first clean was a small house i only clean 8 weeks ago for the previous customer so the windows werent dirty really plus they had replaced all the back windows with new ones(compact estate work).....i reckon ill still get my money(in the end)then ill dump her and wave to her every month while im cleaning all her neighbours windows!

How would you enforce a 3 clean policy if they cancel you cannot make them pay it’s just not worth the hassle, better to take more time on the quote if you get a bad feeling then walk away or charge double for the first clean this normally does away with the one off brigade

It makes them think twice and I can send letters demanding payment. It also will reduce the messers. When you're trying to grow quickish you can't quote the jobs so you just tell them it's regular only and it's on their bill too.
