I never put it’s going up from £15 to £16. I need to increase by £1 is easier to swallow imo

this is what i do.short and sweet...no need for anything else or any "extra fluff"....i write it on their invoice or text it them(if i dont tell them face to face)

I just put on the slip 'Price increase + £1.00 next time'.

Don't ever ask if it's ok. But don't expect them to be happy either.

I don't feel the need to justify it either. But I'm certainly not the most expensive.

Virgin are putting up my monthly phone bill in July. Don't recall them asking or hoping I'm ok with it.  My morning coffee and pasty must have gone up 3 times in the last 18 months also. Point is this happens with everything we buy and people hardly bat an eyelid .... don't sweat it.

That's very good but not sure about the " my Ferrari needs a new paint job ", maybe " to cover the price of my brand new leased van with heated seats " would be more appropriate ?

funny thing happened this morning ... I clean an ice cream maker that has their ice cream brand in many well known stores ie tesco etc.

told her of price rise... she smiled and was all good ...
she then said we have bought another house , will call you soon to call there. ... I replied ... did you buy it with your price increase ?
glad she saw the funny side lol

I have payment slips like we all do. When I want to put up the price I use one that has these two lines added at the bottom.

"As I have not raised my prices for some time now I am applying a modest increase and the new rate will be £____________ as of next clean. I do hope you find this acceptable."
