Cheers Dazmond I'm all for making the job as easy as possible  that's one of the main reasons I come on here the helpful advice  and see how others do things compared to how I work

I'm still never used one a simple pinch of hose works, I've not seen anyone in my area of Hertfordshire as I would as to borrow it to see if there worth it, but I'm simple pinch hose I've got remote control of freedom trolley I've even managed to fit and hide one in surfow backpack i hade a spare to apply to my van but never got around to it as i can't find it or lost it or lent it out ive lent permeate pump out for trials to see if bigger version could be a goal for my filter are 20in housings from Alex way back, I've never hard results on permeate pump or know where it went as I could have lent it as my mate is stuck  but I don't like chasing things, but would be hopeful of possibilities of bigger version being made, one day I'll come across uni valve as I'm one to like to see if anything can be improved on otherwise it's works straight out the box, I've seen few variations on the same idea just forgot about them  till I see post,

Got mine delivered and i fitted them today only ordered yesterday had a quick try out and they seem to be very good give them a go next week

How can you make it any easier than the unvalve.....mine's about 18 month old on both poles and works fine...pinching the hose.....you tight gets.

I might try one , I usually go through about 3 taps a year - which costs around £30 + vat

From the start I've strapped a simple push/fit tap on the pole. £10 each. They last a year or more. I don't mind the loop at all, besides having 35 foot of comparatively fragile pole hose dragging along the ground seems likely to cause extra wear in the pole due to the amount of crap picked up, plus getting pierced on roses etc.

The univalve is up there with the very best wfp innovations of all time!! Would hate to work without one now, saves so much time, hassle and water. Had no issues with mine in over 12 months but would replace immediately if/when it fails.👍

i used to do this many years ago.its a crap way to work.......compared to the uni valve...

it doesnt cause any extra wear on the pole hose(mine is over 2 years old,although im changing it this weekend for some fresh hose)....

put it this way you wont miss the loop one bit! if you buy a univalve!

Had mine from the day they came out. Sometimes you have to tug twice.
Wouldn't be without it. Loved Aqua Dapter also

I worked for eight years with a trigger attached to my pole and the loop of hose that went with it. I didn’t mind the loop and learned to work with it. However, when I switched to a Univalve it was like being let off a leash. Way better

That's exactly how I felt too.
Like some mentioned above, I worked with the loop of hose and tap in my hand, quick flick of the thumb for on/off. Easy. But the Univalve is even simpler and it was a relief to loose the loop!!
Brilliant invention.

just reconnected my 2 year old uni-valve to my new pole hose today...it still works perfectly....

First day using uni valve today. Absolutely love it walking round jobs instantly turning water on and of without faffing around with tap and loops of pole hose has been a doddle just ordered slick connectors this morning to hopefully help eliminate a few snags. Once again thanks to all for advice.

If I were to try one, what other bits would I need? Do they work with standard Gardiner yellow hose?

Just need to remember to order o rings to suit easy to fit there's video's on you tube or I think there's a video on wcw site. The gardeners all season yellow pole hose may be a bit stretchy in warm weather I've got one using orange pu the other on wcw black pole hose and they both work fine

i got o rings with my univalves when i ordered 2 a few years ago....i always have a stock of them anyway though....

no...you need PU pole hose to fit the univalve securely.....they literally take 2 mins to fit to your pole hose......an o clip on each end and jobs a good un.....
