Window cleaners doing jet washing
« on: April 30, 2018, 10:55:05 am »
On the jet washing pages on ciu and other forums, sadly us window cleaners offering a jet washing service are not held in a favourable light. They feel we are karcher warriors and under pricing cowboys.
Lol, these are often broad sweeping statements as most of the time I find its the gardeners who are the karcher warriors  ;D ;D
This is a quick (less than a minute) vid of someones standard that ive been called out to quote and im also quoting to rectify their clean as well  ;D
But if were venturing into widening our cleaning services, please i beg dont use karchers and cheap petrol machines  ;D ;D ::)roll

I thought broad, general, ill informed, opinionated, sweeping statements were the realm of Nigel 😂

The general board has always been say we say “odd” mainly due I feel that over the years window cleaners (and others) have shown contempt for this area of cleaning without realising there is more to it than spraying water about - just like window cleaning there are lots of part time glory boys doing cheap jobs for cash

Do some decent posts on there and you may one day be accepted 😀

You are right.

The key is to not give a flying thingy about what anyone else thinks.

There's a huge difference.
Theres no difference in pumps n psi between my pump box and that of a pure freedom trolley system. Although i did make one with a higher psi than pure freedom once  ;D
Whereas theres a huge difference in water flow and pressure or that of adjusting the pressure.   Never mind using say a plastic fsc with a karcher or aldi bought machine  ;D

I have piece of mind, it amazes me on two levels.  The first is that someone would do such a poor job and expect to get paid for it (ref my video) and 2nd that customers are happy to pay for that job.

I don't do pressure washing Nathan but I've done my own patio & driveway with a Karcher and it looks fine. I think whoever did that one in the video went too quick and only used a spray lance and not the spinny thing.

Nothing wrong with karchers,  the majority are sold targeting domestic home use and not domestic trade  work.    So if you want to spend a whole day or days depending on the size of your drive etc then so be it.   Or to blast the car safely clean then its a great piece of kit.
But to turn uo to someones house with  a karcher you picked uo from asdas or bnq is taking the mickie just a bit and then to ask to plug it in and use their water is a little cheekie dont you think

It reminds me some time back of someone in my local village coming round with a flymo asking to cut lawns with two extension plugged to make one big extension wire.

Nor do I. We did do for a year or two whilst getting established but just windows/gutters/conservatories now. Leave the jetwashing to the specialists.

Jetwashing always seems to give me a sore neck anyway.
