Putting marine carpet on your squeegee, scrubber, WFP handles handle.
Lets you have comfortable light positive grip.
Also like me with the aluminium handle is never cold to hold in the winter.
Material used is (Marine Carpet No Rubber Backing)

H,

That isn't the area where you get black hands from though! And if you use extensions then your fooked.
Easier getting a pair of gloves.

Well it's nice of you to go to the effort of making a video, so thanks for that.

However, I would agree that the handle section is not where the black hand plague comes from.  The waterfed poles we use all have fibre glass handles that don't produce the black dust.  The dust comes from the carbon fibre sections wearing down as they are constantly extended/retracted and rub against the clamps as they go.

In my experience, the only good way to solve this problem is to take the pole apart, clean each section to remove any dust on there and then spray clear lacquer on each section.  This works a treat.

The first time I did this I could not believe the difference it made.  It was like a new pole.

You need to do this about every month.

Now I do this to all my poles on the first Friday of every month.  Takes about 30 mins to do 1 pole.

I was going to post similar,  especially as the video tags wfp and technically the pole hes doing is for trad work and not wfp. But I know from other you tube videos that ones would rather adapt a "harris" pole for wfp than actually buy a decent gardiner slx pole for instance.   Yet when I used to operate my unger poles I didnt get balck hands either so im a little confused by the vid unless over in Australia (where i think H man is based,  but could be so wrong!) they dont have the same varied/modern equipment as we do. Yet it will offer a better grip on those sorts of poles im sure.

But, a good spray of dry ptf on the carbon poles prevents the dreaded black hands as youve mentioned. Absolutely no need to be sticking anything to the main handle/pole at all

Yes of cause it up to anyone one weather they want to do this on there pole handle or any other handle.

Australia has the same handles as any other country which is generally round.

If you do not want to try this, that's fine .

Just put this up for the people that find it harder to have a comfortable light positive grip.
Maybe arthritis, RSI, or generally find it hard to grip for long period of time.

Think I'll swerve that one and just wear gloves.
