I’ve used a drill for 8 years, I only replaced my original drill last year, that was because the case broke, the drill was still going strong. For all dazmond says about using a cox reel ect, why then does he insist only using light brushes? Because it’s a lot easier than using a heavy brush! Not having to wind a reel in, how ever few times a day you have to do it makes a massive difference to your working day, there is no way anyone can say winding a reel in by hand is just as easy as using a motor, Dazmond can’t really comment on motorised reels as he has never used one. Anyone that has a motorised reel will tell you it’s better and I’m pretty sure no one would revert back to manual winding.
I bought a second had drill from eBay, took the batteries out of the battery pack an wired it directly to the van battery.
The drill is an 18v but running off the 12v van battery it has load of torque.
Once you get the hang of it it’s a really cheap way of having a motorised reel without the hassle of Fitting a cog and chain.
