Not settling on the roads or pavement's thankfully!

Easter was this time in march a good few years ago; was snowing then.

I was going to work today.
I ended up cleaning early at a cafe (have to do it before it opens).  While cleaning, the snow started.  Went to change the resin in one of the vessels, cashed in some scrap metal I've been storing, then came home.
A grand sum of £23 something.  £15 for the cafe and £8+something for the metal.  I suppose it's a few free bags of pasta, LOL.

Yep it’s snowing here and sunny , I’m going to fill the van up later and pop the fish tank heaters in over the weekend so it doesn’t freeze, as it’s supposed to be pretty cold today & tomorrow . Think il take out my equipment too so there’s (hopefully) no problems Monday morning !

get a diesel heater with frost stat feature when you can afford it mate....no need to worry about anything freezing....no humping gear out of the van either....

It does sound good, however the 1st thing I’m gonna buy this year is an electric reel I think

Just been outti check my van as snowing heavy now.
But my water tank is still warm from yeaterday and my tds stick is showing a van temp of 20. So with the new van layout ive stuffed a sleeping bag over the pump and my work fleece over my reel.
Drained my hoses and so all is good for today n tonight. If its bad tomorrow it wont be a problem as the immersion will be going on sunday night ready for monday.

Snowing here, but i've been out and done a small cladding and low roof clean and then a fascia, soffit, gutter clean, connie roof etc on a small semi. Both customers very happy indeed. Plenty of tea as well.  ;D

Took my little ones to Chessington today. On the way there got held up in traffic, turns out a window cleaner had come off the road and smashed into a tree  :-X

He was definitely out working as he had his "window cleaner" jumper on.
Temperature was 0 degree and it was snowing.  What was he thinking...

People seem to forget that half a tonne of water in the back of the van has an impact on braking and steering in normal conditions, let alone hazardous conditions.

He was still alive though I presume?

And 0 degrees is happy days in comparison to temps of late.

I went out today and my fingers felt like they had frost bite on them on my first job, I'm not going to be one of them window cleaners that is a victim of the weather. That's being sensible at the same time. The sun came up an hour later and warmed me up, I spent 0 time at home getting behind and all is good.

I appreciate what your saying about window cleaning vans being more susceptible to accidents but I bet the percentage of window cleaners that had accidents today was way below the non window cleaner related accidents.

Me too - all my jobs are on my doorstep so only about 2 mins down the road. But bloody hell my fingers were hurting this morning with the frost!!

Yes he was unhurt, stood assessing the damage to the front of his van.
This was at 9.40 this morning, temp had just hit 0 and it was snowing quite heavy at this point. With wind chill temp was -6.

With regards to your last point Paul, I can't imagine there were to many window cleaners working around here today in those conditions. I wonder Why..

We all had 4 layers on and still only lasted half a day at Chessington! I thought it was the coldest day of winter so far. Can't imagine working in it.

I'm not too far to the south of that area.  He may have found, as I did, that the snow didn't start until after he left home.  The temperature was just above zero and not snowing when I left home around 7.30.  The last forecast I saw was that the snow  was coming late on Saturday afternoon.  Apparently, they did revise that to an earlier time but I missed it.  After the snow started I drove the extra mile to my lock-up as resin needed changing and took water on board for Monday.
So you just never know.  He might have done a little work but was on his way home when it started.
