Just buy a good second hand car... you can get a lot of bang for your buck these days. I can't think of a bigger PITA than a pickup for wfp!!

why? because they are too big? or too high to get to the back?

Lack of space, security issues, they guzzle juice, freezing gear in winter, high road noise..... the list goes on!!

I liked the L200, it had better fuel economy than my Custom by about 5gpm. Plenty of room in the cab for the kids etc and when away to Aviemore I'd just lift the tank out and literally chuck everything in it including kids bikes and adult bikes on the tow bar and off we went.  Having had one i don't see any reel issue for window cleaning unless you have a forty foot pole but you can always stick it on the roof and remove at night. Freezing weather? My van seems worse!

No negative issues with my pick up for what I need it suits me. I've had various vans over the years and this vehicle is my preference.

Hi Adam. Pickup trucks for work is always going to start a debate , a bit like marmite , love em or hate them. I have a 13 yr old ford ranger supercab with a truckman  style high top fb top on back. It gives me just as much space as a small van. I had a 500 l tank made to fit snugly between wheel arches and fully baffled. I carry a floor mounted pro lok reel, 25 ft pole plus 4 extensions when needed , backpack, trad gear and a fold up ladder with room left over ! all accessible at the perfect height - no need for electric reel. I'm cold water only ( but no ro or filters on board ) and ok stuff can freeze but I made everything qr and draining down and frost protecting takes me  minutes. My set up is so simple and works faultlessly. From pulling up at a job to driving away , I find I'm quicker than I ever was with a van.

Immersion will stop the freezing issues or fill with hot if DI only that's what I do. Love working from pick up all this mornings work on same estate drop the tailgate once crack on then pack up and head for home. Simples
