Have to laugh at urself sometimes
« on: March 05, 2018, 12:37:44 pm »

So im  currently working on this street which is a very busy road but narrow. So for the house on the far left I got my trolley out for.  Behind me on this photo is the local post office. As I got my trolley out another window cleaner parked infront of my van, guessing for the local post office, but is just sat in the van watching me.
Haha my trolley snags on a small piece of metal near one of the houses and pulls trolley from out of my hands and it tilts forward and the barrel comes loose. So I move the trolley to a save partand go back for the barrel which has lost my connection at the bottom so water is just gushing out. Thankfully my male connection on hose is same size diameter and plugged the leak and away i went working after 2mins of fumbling like a complete novis and a tw@@!   I didnt look to see if they were still watching as too busy laughing at myself whilst I cracked on

Great pic, but what was the point of it?
We look at them, they look through them.

January I slipped on ice and nearly landed on my aris whilst working across the road, February same street I slipped on my hose and nearly went down but the big dramatic star shaped my body pulled off saved me again. I had trip hazard signs out, lot of good they do!

Haha good point, dont know really. Just to show narrowness of the road to justify getting trolley out i suppose as no doubt someone will post how it doesnt happen to them cause they dont use a trolley or dont have one or whatever  ;D

Don't take on awkward access jobs that require trolleys  ;D

Back in my trad days, I drove off once and ran over my bucket.  Smashed it to bits, but at least the other tools survived :)

I did that and fell into a customer's fish pond.  :-[

i remember when i was trad and i was walking down a road with my ladder one day when a really fit girl was approaching on the other side of the road.so im trying to look as cool as possible and gave her a smile as i walked past her then i slipped on the icy footpath and ended up with the ladder on top of me on the floor! ::)roll ;D

another time id forgotten to tie my ladders on and nipped to the local village at lunchtime and stopped at a pelican crossing and my ladders slid forward(off the bonnet of my mondeo)and just missed an old lady crossing the road! ::)roll ;D ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!

When on trad tools and even now im not sure how I actually managed it.
But a customer had hose pipe out all over the floor by the conservatory. Somehow I managed to stand on the trigger and very cold water shot up my leg and soaked my never regions and trouser leg. It looked like I had peed myself  ;D ;D

Narrowness of the road,.....that makes me laugh. Tryliving in Devon with country lanes and small hamlets, they're narrow. We can always spot the groccos (tourists) as they drive like the lanes are only wide enough for one vehicle when we locals just keep our foot on the gas regardless and consider lanes wide enough for two vehicles to pass

Guessing there as bad as the lanes in cornwall then, after being there a number of times you soon learn to master the roads.
Its same here though as well, it makes me laugh. Some poor/but mostly non confident drivers waiting because a car is parked and on coming vehicles are coming. They patiently wait, holding up traffic when all the drivers who frequent these roads know you can easily continue to drive. Then their patience run out and they just go for it regardless anyway in the end.  Still, i surpose they've learnt for next time

I've done similar, but over a box of rifles (with an army landrover).  Some idiot had put them right in front of it, but obviously it was all my fault.  ;D
