I'm down to 207 lbs at the minute but cutting to around 195lb. I'm 6 2" mate.

I used to compete at that weight, amateur kickboxing.

Depends on the type of excersise , weight training like daz , yeah definatly what he says , tried and tested as any bodybuilding mag will tell you , however tosh and his wife are long distance endurance athletes low carb high fat diets offer a slow burning energy after you have adapted over two weeks and suits this type of training much better , I have done both but 90 days ago decided to try vegan I dropped two weight catagories (I fight) from 82 kg to 62kg without planning to , never felt stronger and can wrestle an hour without stopping , I deadlift 140kg at 62kg body weight , vegan is the new hotness guys I’m telling ye ! :-)

I tried vegan, its a hard one to get into mate.

I found myself being way to picky with food, a lot vegan stuff they sell is still bad for you in other ways.

I got fed up in the end and thought flick it, I'm just gonna eat a sensible diet. Low GI carbs, 0.8 gram per lb protein and 0.5 per lb fats (low polyunsaturated, low saturated). I still allow myself 200 kcals per day for chocolate to satisfy cravings.

You do lose weight quickly with low carb but its mainly due to water weight as carbs fill the muscle with glycogen and then hold water, so your mainly losing water.

Mate that's 20 kg in 13 weeks, around 1.5lbs per week. Good going that.Do you sup with b6 and vit d?

Hi mate thanks I was surprised I've never been that light , my sport is Brazillian Jiu Jitsu submission wrestling , I do indeed , I take a berrocca (mostly not needed but it has the b vits and vit d as well) I actually really believe in the vit d and your correct about the b vits vegans would o lay get them from soil after picking up fallen fruit lol , your stats and bf look great 12-15 is really good man really low can be tough and not really needed if your strong and lifting double body weight that's great , have you ever heard of the supple leopard book it's great for weight lifters and everyone really

Don't worry about massive high protein intakes I truly believe not many people need what the magazines (which only cover their costs by whey protein adverts) tell you , many bodybuilder  unless the naturals are so full of ped's it doesn't matter what they put into them, protein is massively overrated and hardly any people are defficient

And defiantly prepared vegan food is just as bad as prepared anything , there are vegans which eat Oreo and Coca Cola all day lol , I think the only good diet is the one you stick too if the macros add up your golden man ,!

BJJ hey, been watching the Gracie's lately on YouTube. I just love striking, can put all my bodyweight in a punch with either hand, have put a few away I can tell you. Would struggle on the ground though against someone who knows what they're doing.

Am considering doing some krav maga but don't want to do too much as recovery is key for me.

You need a mix these days ((for competitive mma style stuff ) striking is great I don't think you need Krav if you already have the kickboxing experience, however the standup guys struggle with good wrestlers as they blast double quickly and close the distance making it hard and on the other side of the coin when you have a black belt Bjj guy hit him once he becomes a brown belt hit him again a purple lol  why not try something where you can go at your pace and have great fun , wresting is hard and a young mans game but Jiu Jitsu is all technique man you can go at your own pace any age any size ! Think of it this way you open up their legs for a takedown with your strikes from kickboxing they lift their hands to cover , you double leg and take mount either punch or take their back and choke them !

If all else fails I'm just a low down dirty fighter, I got stuck under someone on the street once and couldn't budge. So whilst biting his thumb I stuck my finger knuckle deep in his eye, could swear I had brain juice on my hand. Gross.

if you want to build muscle then you have to have a high protein diet IMO.it aids in recovery too(which is even more important when your in your mid forties)...I dont drink protein shakes apart from one after my workouts(so only 3 shakes a week)as im not a big fan of them.i have around 150-200g of protein a day and im 250lb and 6ft 2in.....the rest comes from real food and the odd protein bar.....
price higher/work harder!
