In my quest to get my dad working without using the backpacks I’m wondering if anyone has tried dropping a feed hose into the tank from the lid, (with a weight on) and using a second system that way?

That's how my Pure Freedom trolley works (the tank being a 25L container). So I can't see a problem doing it this way.

However wouldn't it make more sense to use a splitter from the hose coming out of the tank outlet so you can feed two pumps from the one tank?

We use two shurflo pumps with a splitter; works no problems.

I’m just concerned that running two pumps both on 90-95 (we work with high flow) out of one 3/4 inch outlet is going to restrict flow... so I’m not sure... the option is to fit a second outlet with a bulkhead fitting...

He's been told that already but doesn't seem to be listening.

It's fine, we work with high flows too; both controllers to max; no problems.

 ;D

To be honest, I know it will ‘work’ but I’m not in a rush to try it all to then find out the flow rate drops, I’m not convinced one 3/4 inch outlet is going to cope with both pumps almost flat out. (By cope, I mean produce the same flow rate I currently get through one pump)

I’ll try it out, if it doesn’t work, I’ll draw from the tank. I’ve been in this game long enough to be fed up with poor flow, so I NEED FAST FLOW  ;D ;D

I've always had my pump setup that way..inlet hose dropped into tank through lid weighted right down.

I use the tank tap to fill backpacks etc.

thanks mate, seems either will work but dropping the hose in seems easiest, saves me replacing parts in my outlet, it’s only for the odd day here and there, my dads retired and likes to to help out a bit to keep busy!

If that works I’ll stick with that, if it turns out to be a faff I’ll order a y splitter.

One thing i like about it is on these cold nights where i want to run the pump dry i simply pull the hose out, turn on the pump with the brush open and job done. In the morning stick it back in.

That’s a good point mate
