Haha my van was on a double yellow line so before he saw it i spoke with him and said sorry to be a pain could you hold this for me for 1 min and gave pole to him and then i  said its just so i can move my van and not get a ticket.

You do know that if you parked on yellow lines working out the back i.e tank-hose-pole you cant get a ticket?

I have a sign in window, put hazards on when working never ever had a problem at all.

Do they give a home removal truck a ticket when somebody is moving house?
A grab lorry?
A drain cleaning company i.e dynorod eho are working back of van?

Same for us.

If you ever get a ticket anyway when illegally park (when your not working) fight it as YOU WERE working

I have been known to run the hose out when working trad on a shop front in order to avoid the chance of a ticket.

I have built up a rapport with the traffic wardens in my locality.

I have had the odd parking ticket, but that was when I first changed my van.

I try not to take the pee, but they are certainly very lenient with me when I'm on a loading bay longer than I should  be or when the on-street ticket I bought has expired.

I talked my way out of a ticket once by being polite and acknowledging that I shouldn't have parked where I had. The warden had started to write the ticket, but backtracked and spoke to the council office and had it cancelled.

This will be at the discretion of the warden as I've been told to move when cleaning windows or risk a ticket.

In general, I've found them to be OK if it's clear that you're working with a reel attached to the van and have parked in the least obstructive, reasonable place.  For some reason that I've never fathomed, Horsham (W. Sussex) seems to be an exception. I know you cover that area too, so wonder if you've found it to be worse than other areas?

Hi mate,I only  have work in Horsham where I have to park on double yellows so can't compare with other areas, there was something in the paper approx 18 months ago that Horsham traffic warden were told to be more reasonable as there had been several complaints by the public.                                                                              in a previous life I had to park on double yellows ,and found its the luck of the drawer what warden turns up and depends if he's pmt or not.
