I clean every 8 weeks and I text all my customers the night before.
You'll love this...I even text the ones I have access to...why?
Courtesy! My customers are quality people and they respect the fact that I text them before I turn up. I can quite happily walk right round their property, but I text them, I clean, I leave a slip. That's the service I offer. But i'm not cheap.
I very rarely (and I mean rarely) get 'not today thank you'. Two times and they are history. I only want customers who WANT their windows cleaned. OK I do get, building going on, etc etc but that's life. It's an occupational hazard. I always have a bit of spare work I can slip in.
I know a lot of guys don't text because the custy may say 'not today thank you' but I can't live my life like that. If they actually don't want me then 'f*** them. There are plenty of other custies out there who want a quality service for a reasonable price.
So I text the night before. I wouldn't text in the morning because I think it's too 'short notice'. People are busy in the morning and I feel I would be intruding on their day. If you are worried that people may forget (from a text the night before) then get some better customers.

Nice talking to you the other day.
I've had a quick look and you can get personalised calendars for less than 50p each. Might be a nice gift for your customers to keep a note of their 'next clean' due date.
Give me a bell if you want more info.
