Factory van anchor points to bolt a frame?
« on: February 23, 2018, 09:20:15 pm »
I’m thinking about changing to a VW transporter Kombi.  I’m trying to figure out a way to fit a secure tank without drilling through the floor.  One suggestion was to use the existing anchor points.  My plan is to secure a frame to the floor by bolting through these existing holes and also have spreaders under the van.  I feel that this would be better than straps.  Does this sound plausible?

I think dazmond has done this or used the anchor points bolts to fix the tank frame in position.

If you send me an email I’ll send picture of the set up I had for years

I can’t upload it for some reason

Anthony.dunmall@me.com

I had a 500 wydale In there a 2 man deisel heater which was drilled through and two hose reels

Took weight really well

My favorite van, shame it had to go, it just funded two vans and two new delivery systems and another heater nearly

There are some pictures on here of p@f's tank done in the way you're talking of.

Mine is half done through floor and half through anchor point's.

check thread, "bolting tank down in transit".
