Running two pumps from single tank outlet
« on: February 22, 2018, 07:50:40 am »
Is anyone running two pumps from a single tank outlet? If so how did you go about it, and does it effect water flow?

I can’t add an extra outlet as my tank is way to big and tall to reach down to tighten the nut.

Only option is to feed two pumps the single existing outlet, but, I use high flow, so I’m not sure weather it will work well or not...

You just need to split the hose from the tank with a T piece to feed your two pumps.
Something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T-Piece-Plastic-Pipe-Joiners-Connectors-TPiece-Tee-/190885956149

Depends on the size of the outlet if it’s an ibc tank you can use a tee piece to split it and it will work fine , if it’s a welded tank like ionics use the outlet is to small and will not work successfully we had extra outlets welded in and now works fine

It’s a 3/4 inch outlet on a 750l baffled tank, I’m really not sure running two pumps both at 90 is going to work... I’m thinking I may need to fit a second outlet!

I might try splitting it first and see how it goes!

That size outlet should be ok put a tee piece on it then take feeds of both ends should work ok I have an ibc tank done like that and will run both pumps flat out if needed

Have you tried single pump and t piece to 2 hose reels, We've been using this on 7 storey buildings for 8 years no problem at all, 100 psi aquatec.

Hi Greg,

Yep tried that, way to slow for us  ;D

It’s only for when my dad works with me, at the mo we have a backpack as a second ‘system’ but it’s obviously not ideal. I’ll try a t-piece and see how we get on.
