the new ultimate brush
« on: February 21, 2018, 06:27:22 pm »
I love this new brush.

Used it all day today and its brilliant!

Great scrub on it and light as a feather, the bristles glide across the glass and the natural bristle remove muck effortlessly.

Anyone considering it I would defiantly recommend getting one, my favourite brush so far.

I recently bought the ultimate medium and took a shine to that, think you also have that brush if so how do you compare them?

Anyone considering it I would defiantly recommend getting one, my favourite brush so far.

Yeah I do and I like it a lot, but it wont be getting much use now.

It's a little softer and has got a crisp feel to the scrub, I would say its more of a "light handed brush" a bit like the extreme but without the feel of having to be "careful" when scrubbing. I can agitate as I normally would which is fairly quickly, the outer bristles glide very well and the inner provides a little "drag". A different experience to the other brushes I have. It scrubs like a heavier brush.

It's a winning combination!

Any brush is great scrubbing etc,etc when new , it's what it will be like in a months time that will determine if it's any better than the others.

p1w1,

I disagree mate, this really is a great brush. I have loads of brushes and they all feel different.

Brushes are only the same when faded, a lot less effective.

I think if you're like I used to be "heavy handed" then it may not suit, but I have learned to not push on the brush as much this year and find it a lot less exhausting and does just as good a job.

I suppose it's not going to suit everyone.

Sounds great what about rinsing on?

Well i can't argue with you as i haven't used one, all im saying is if i put a new brush on (supreme) i get the same results as your describing in regards to cleaning power.  But its great to have that extra choice and no doubt ill give a try at some point.

I have to be honest, I don't know!

I didn't try because of the natural bristle, I was in the hospital today till 11:00am so was 2 hours behind when I started so I was flying round what was mostly bungalow work today.

With the glide and the weight (175g) I was breezing through it all, did the last 10 bungalows in 2 hours.

Will need more time to experiment with rinsing on.

Do you use many different brushes?

I have bought lots of different brushes over the last 6 months,

extreme natural bristle
super lite compact (favourite next to this new one)
flocked super lite compact
14" stiff ultimate(£20 off another local shiner)
x line rinse bar( sold after 2 days use, crap)
tucker dual trim (pencil and fan jets)
ultimate medium (yellow one)

Searching for the perfect brush for me, I even went and tried a constructor( cheers bob) so I have plenty to compare this new one with.

It scrubs like a heavier brush but its so light and agile.

Like you have tried a few personally I like the ultimate range, theone brush I didn't like was the superlite medium mix used it for half a day sat in my shed either since, swap for your ultimate medium if you wanna give this a try 😀

Over the years virtually every gardiner brush i think and in the early days even the vikan oval and sill brushes (still use the sill brush to clean my van and that has to over 10 years old  ;D). To be honest i find bristle wise there all much the same really good for a couple of months then slowly fade away (which is to be expected). I use the supreme for the day to day stuff mainly because of the stock i find better then the others and is still relatively light  and an extreme for the high work and soft flocked supreme for delicate leaded glass. I just change them every 3-4 months now.
Its just individual personal preference really when it comes to brushes.

I liked the look of it so much I’ve just ordered an extreme 47 foot pole to get the ultimate du pont brush. 🤣

(Edit)

Just noticed The brush still cost me An extra £8 aswell as the cost of the pole itself. Should be here tomorrow, will see how it goes.
