« on: February 14, 2018, 11:16:31 am »
Hi people
Got a builders clean to do and frames and windows covered in bonding agent ( used for rendering) and brick dust .
What is the best at getting it off glass and plastic frames?
Cheers

Let them get someone else to do it!!

Sounds like an absolute nightmare - I think you will regret it if you take it on, regardless of how much you charge.

Agreed!

We have taken on three new properties which have just been built, with a bit of work to be done to finish off.

I have made absolutely clear we don't do builders cleans. We will clean using WFP and that's it. I have said get the builders to get off all the stickers, mortar, glue etc beforehand.

Done a couple in the past and they are an absolute nightmare

It’s a good customer, he’s been let down by builder ... it’s what I do , I look after my customers especially when they are good.

There must be a cleaning agent that makes easy work of bonding agent and glue left from duck tape

We all like to look after our customers, especially the good ones. But sometimes we have to realise our limitations

Couldn’t agree more I just don’t understand why anyone would do this type of work you will get blamed for any scratches or any other problems with the glass they will deduct what money they think is owed to sort it out of what they are paying you and generally take ages to pay and it’s very poor pay to compared to doing normal maintenance cleans we have just turned down two large housing estate requests to do builders cleans , they expect me to drop what ever Ime doing to go and clean a couple of houses for them at very low rate of pay , they felt that they were doing me a favour by asking me , I politely declined and said please don’t contact me again this is now the 3 rd time they have enquired clearly no communication in the management team 😂😂😂😂

No point doing favours if theres no £££ in it.

This is not a favours games its a business game, treat it as such.

Im all for giving the local old bat a free garage door clean once in a blue moon but taking on  ballache of a job for no gain, no thanks ive got other windows to be cleaning.

DO you need the work I wouldn’t touch builders cleans unless it’s for an existing customer that’s had work done on there property I already clean.
