Is a pump likely to have gone after less than a year? Had ten years out of the last identical one...

Barely pulling any water out, and tried all the sucking it through tricks and still nothing.
Disconnecting the inlet you can feel there's no suction, so it's not a connection.

I've tried connecting the two pressure switch wires as someone suggested and it made a clunk and the varistream said 'P'.
Any ideas please?

Me again ... is there a good head of water on the inlet side when you suck through?

When disconnected from the inlet it pours out of the tank, so no blockage.
Problem seems to be the pump isn't sucking, as putting your finger over the inlet you can't feel anything

Shurflo.
Had at least ten years out of the last one.
Same thing happened though, so I replaced it.
Surely it can have happened already?
I need to know if it's knackered though, as the earlier I can reorder the better.
Worried about losing days now. Already got a van service on Thursday!

Always have spare parts just in case. I've got a controller and pump in the garage ready to hook up and go for when one of them dies on me. No down time 👍

Maybe if the second pump has gone the same way as the first one it could be?

The last one worked fine for ten years!
And it's an exact replacement.

You have got the inlet and outlet the right around haven’t you..?

Also, are you sure you’ve wired it correctly? (Red/black to battery-blue/brown to controller)

I think you just need to try another pump. As said above, you need spares of almost everything, including pump & controller.

I had a flojet that wasn't that old play up because it wasn't self priming for some reason. Pump was low to van floor & tank outlet as possible. Used to happen when it got air in from the tank getting low & water sloshing. Took me ages to find out what it was. As soon as I changed for another pump the system has been fine ever since.

Are you damaging it by running it try or something?

Try an aquatec pump e.g. from gardiners. I find they draw water better (other pump I have used is a flojet).

As has been already posted it is always good to have a spare anyway even if other pump is fine. Stop being such a tight git.

Got a brand new aquatec (it's a spare ☹️) unopened here if you want to give the van a run to Birmingham.
But buy a spare when this is sorted

I have the same Surflow I started with 15 years ago. Pressure switch disconnected from new, both analogue and digital Varistream. The only time I ever lose suction is when air gets in on the inlet side of the pump, somewhere between your tank and the pump.
It goes without saying that you have a strainer on your feed from the tank.

Splice the two cables that go into pressure switch. If pump works pressure switch is goosed
