stinky fiat doblo?
« on: February 09, 2018, 12:53:20 pm »
Hello everyone I've got my fiat doblo in at vanwise dealership.

It's got a 3 month warranty and I've accumulated a snag list.

One of the things I noticed on my van and now on the fiat doblo courtesy van I currently have is how smelly the exhaust is if your outside van when engine is running.

Anyone know why?

On my doblo there was a smell coming through air vents when driving, I put this down to the oil and fuel filter change that was done on service prior to me taking ownership.

But as said exhaust stinks on this courtesy doblo.

All good fun.

Never got this with my doblo but get it with my dispatch. It's a horrible/chemical type of smell- don't get it with the car either.

Is it like a gas leak smell but sort of not as pungent and kinda chloriney?

If so its normal, its just the diesel cat working properly

Have you tried giving it a good blast up the motorway? The dpf might just need a good cleanout.

My dpf has not done a regen yet , that i am aware of anyway !
I think it could be the fact that i have two 10 minute 70mph runs to and from my round .
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !
