I've got one. 1400kg payload. 2L engine. Half a tonne of water, me, tank, ladders, etc. It pulls really well.

As above but we have a 2 man 1000 litre set up, we also have a Transit Custom Sport and pound for pound the Peugeot is the better van.

I have a 2015 Dispatch with 1200 payload.  I have the one with the 2 litre engine (I understand there used to be issues with the 1.6 version).  There is a 700 litre tank in it.  It  pulls just fine.  The only slight irritation (so far) is that it goes through brake pads a lot quicker than I'm used to.  I used to get 45,000 miles out of the Renault Trafic pads but the ones in the dispatch seem to be around 18,000 - 22,000.  I do tend to decelerate well in advance which helps.

Don’t forget the Toyota Proace version. It’s the exact same van, but 5 year warranty instead of 3.

Well I ordered a new Expert. Pretty good deal from Peugoet. Professional model, 115 bhp, for 15k three years interest free. I test drove one. As nice to drive as the Custom with a higher spec and much less money. Not bothered about residual values as it will be driven until it dies.

I've never got the whole "residual value" thing- You pay for it up front. "they hold their value" yeah but that just cost you an extra 10k!! You're not buying an asset investment, it's gonna lose money every day for it's entire life.

I remember Dave Morris giving it large with the purchase of a top spec VW transporter....... Only to later concede that TWO Vivaros (or whatever they were) for the same money were far better value and made better business sense (obviously).

Sounds like a good buy, is that with or without vat?

I remember that !
Metallic green T5 , he called me one day with pump failure , i took him a spare , when he opened the back door i laughed my rocks off , bungeed tank with speaker wired pumps !
Then he got the 2 Vivaros , which the boys wrecked .
Then he got 3 Nemos , which the boys wrecked .

Then he got rich as fook and knocks about in Ferraris and Porsches these days !!!
Fair play to him , dont think hes bothered about the loss on the VW anymore

Without the VAT. Even at £18k it’s outstanding value. Even if you opt for a 5 year deal it’s the VAT as a deposit and only 2.9%.

Just as an aside. It’s from a main dealer. The online van companies have great headline prices and could possibly have offered the van a bit cheaper but if you manage to get the APR out of them (I couldn’t, I had to work it out myself as well as the total repayable) you’ll see it’s 7.2% and an extra grand or so over time.

Plus I have a 2006 Boxer still going strong, so there’s nothing inherently wrong with Peugeots compared to Fords.

I get the VW thing if you’re s sole trader and no car by the way. Otherwise I don’t get it at all.

Medium size. I'd say slightly narrower than a Custom, but same lengthish. Probably 600 litre. It's a one man van mind you. Plenty of room for a guttervac besides the tank.

No offence but it aint that great value comapared to the custom if you paid 18k. My Custom limited was/is 22k on HP.

What does the Custom Lmited have that the Professional doesn’t and what’s your total repayable? It’s the whole deal. I’ll bet you’re paying minimum £25k. So 6-7k less money is a good deal I’d say.

Probably less spec as well, never use cruise control, heated seats etc....just gimmicks for me really as I dont do any journeys long enough to benefit.

Yes , Dave has done very well , I think he has a Ferrari and a couple of Porsches  too !
He was selling one of the Posches a while back as he didnt have the time to drive it       
Got big holiday lets too i think , Debbie looks after them i believe .
So no , he hasnt done well at all really 
I remember him telling me once , he came down to the Southwest with a bucket and Volvo estate and it just snowballed !!!
