end of day jobs...........
« on: December 19, 2017, 08:08:40 pm »
as soon as i get home i start purifying my water for my next days work.this usually takes 30-40 mins DI only.update cleaner planner and print invoices out while tank filling up,write the next days tickets/chits out too, check online banking for payments and then send any texts out around 7pm.maybe run a lead out to  the van to charge batteries(although ill probably only have to do this once a week from now on).

i wash my cloths etc once a week usually on a friday after work.

thats it! ;D

how do you guys get on when you get in from work?

I have battery, pump and controller fitted inside a carrying case so take these out of van and put on charge every day.
Fill up or maybe fill up in morning....250 litre tank so only takes about 12 minutes...change into joggers and have tea.
Hour on computer then out to gym or for a run around 7.30 back home for nineish....telly and 3 or 4 cans of Stella.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

The wive throws the dog out into the rear garden as she the dog not the wife)  goes bonkers when she hears my van pull up. So i first get attacked by the dog followed by a mad rush of little kids excited to see daddy and a knicked knacked wife whos glad to tag me so she can have some time out.
After sorting tea n kids are quiet having dessert i nip out and stick the extension cable into the van and transfer water from IBC tank to the van and plug in the Immersion. 20 mins or so Im back indoors and story time n helping the mrs get the 2 little ones into bed n story time etc, around 7ish.
Then its dog walking for about an hour.

Finally when all is quiet and the oldest is in  bed I sort out all GoCardless payments. Send my pre typed message to customers for next day (takes about 5-10 mins) and then spend time unwinding with wife.

It depends on tank temperature as to when I turn on the immersiin heater and all my "window cleaned" tickets are pre printed from vista so I dont need to worry about that as I have 500 in the van.
My books are wrote out on actual books which I write out once a year and each month when I work the round its a simple "p" for paid or "o" for owing. Then each tax year, a simple case of spending a day sorting my accounts.

I have plenty of scrims which I rarely use, and a load of micro fibre cloths in van for daily use and so I only need to wash them perhaps once or twice in a month

I pull into drive
Put extension lead out to battery
Turn r.o on and connect to van

Usually have an hour in the bath and fall asleep before cooking tea.

That's it till about 7-8 o clock when I text tomorrows work and mark off today's and payments etc.

I then check water filling, it fills at about 40l an hour so I can usually turn it off before I go to bed.

About 12pm I have a kip and wake up about 7 ready for another day of cleaning glass.

I clean cloths and clean the van on a Friday afternoon.

Same as Tom 😂 Some of u guys are proper organised.

No battery charging as run direct from van battery, no transferring water as am double di, so fill up in the morn on way to first job. Once home I don't look back at the van but do have to keep up to date with paperwork which can drag on to silly o'clock sometimes

Generally ...

Reverse up drive so that the van is in the best position to gravity fill from my "top tank" and fill to a point that will cover the next days work. (Dan the Man uses the bottom tanks and a pump)

If the next day is going to be cold I then reverse up so that the rear of my van is under the car port roof (ooh posh! aka shed roof on stilts thing) and plug in the immersion heater. (But only switched on at a time point needed for the next days ambient temperature)

Then go in to my office (ooh posh! 9 x 6 cubbyhole) and update George and (every other day or so check bank payments and put them on George too.)

Sometimes I prepare the next day's paperwork if it's a pre-8 am start but usually get up early and do it then.

It's a game of three halves!

My mornings consist of dog walking and changing nappies, helping with breakfast and chilling with a much needed coffee before disconnecting extension wires and setting off to work

My mornings consist of having a dump and a coffee and sitting down for an hour whilst I wake up, then I reluctantly make my sarnies and get out about 8:30

i have to have at least 90 mins in the morning before i leave for work, usually  2 hours.i make a large breakfast(usually porridge, banana, blueberries followed by 3 boiled eggs)a cup of tea and a cup of coffee, vitamins, fish oils etc.catch up with my emails, news, weather, ciu.make a flask and packed lunch for work.

im much more productive and ready for work if im organised and ive had a good breakfast and a chill out before heading out the door.

all paperwork, scheduling, invoices and anything to do with the van are all done the day before so i can relax in the morning before the day gets ugly! ;D

Takes me a good while to feel awake.

Can't eat first thing in the morning, makes me feel sick.

I don't have breakfast just a couple of coffees or tea then I'll eat my sarnies about 11. Then when I get home usually no later than 3 I'll eat another sarnie or snack type meal with a coffee. Then I'll go chill in the bath etc then about 5 I'll cook a proper meal.

I eat most on an evening I'll eat again about 8 then usually about 11 I'll have something else before bed.

My diet is pretty rubbish, going to try to change it and get back in the gym in the new year. Maybe I will have more energy to not feel so drained cleaning windows if I had a better diet?

Longest I've ever lasted at gym is about a year .I've stopped and started probably a dozen times over the years..usually last anything from a month or two to a year but never managed to make it permanent

I'm same with a anything I do, I get excited start something then get bored and do something else. I'm easily distracted and lack commitment, I know is this.

Home from work, connect the van and fill up, Di only so only about 2 hours. Bring all scrims in and leave next to washing machine for the wife, make my breakfast (oats/grapes/Greek yoghurt/milk) and lunch (sandwiches) for the next day. Have a long soak in the bath.

Then I make tea, spend some time with the kids until the wife puts them to bed and I’ll check the van is filled and do any invoicing/texting that’s required and sort out what work will be done the next day.

Quite simple really but it’s important to be organised and I actually enjoy it.
