300gpd Membrane

Does anyone know what the little gromit is for, it came with the Streamline 300gpd membrane.

That's on the bottom of the membrane you locate in the the membrane houseing, pull the membranes out to see if any are missing or stapped of, no seal then no pure water production, been there , bought the tee shirt🤓

The other end of the membrane is the same as the one in the picture but without the slot.
The little gromit was loose in the same sealed bag the membrane came in.
Im getting no pure water from it.

Dont use these types of membrane but it looks like an adapter to allow the membrane to be used with different sized housings/feeds, presumabley yours will fit one of the types
