Sounds nasty; broken ankles and broken arms.  Looks like he landed feet first, snapping his ankles, and tried to break the rest of his fall with his hands.

It's the kind of injury sailors used to get in the 18th Century falling from rigging.

Obviously hope this guy recovers well both physically and mentally after such a fall.
However its same as granvilles post in the sence that as sad as this news is, it could have been avoided. Its a needless horrible incident that has taken place

If he is in his 40's this could well be the end of the road for him in terms of window cleaning.

I doubt very much he will be able to go back to window cleaning after that accident.

Hope he makes it, to fall 30 feet onto a brick pathway even soneone in their 20's would be lucky to walk again...hell hes lucky he didnt pass away there and then poor fella.

Reading an article about it Gold, there was a suggestion of rope access. Will be interesting to see what actually happened, I think a few are assuming ladders are involved. They may well be but I have read ropes were dangling after him.

If he landed on the tail-lift of a truck I presume there wasn't a ladder involved. Unless the lorry hit the ladder thus knocking him off.

We might be jumping the gun but....whennI said its a needless accident im sure you have to agree that working from the ground floor would prevent the accident from occuring, regardless if ropes were used or not.
It does also mention health n safety officers have been made aware of the situation. Theres no picture of ladders but obviously son has packed up and raced off to hospital....he must be devasted as well to watch his father fall.
