Good evening gents, I'm looking for a way to best retain heat in my tank, however it needs to be neat as I've got OCD, well so the Girfriend tells me.....
Cheers

Don't use water tank lagging jackets (red or black) for internal tanks stored in attics in the olden days before on demand boilers) because when they are wet they fall to pieces.
Use reflective bubble wrap, then a layer of wood or celotex or similar on top, the thicker the better for retaining heat. Does keep the heated water fairly warm/hot if the tank is insulated well as I insulated my tank in my campervan

I use 50mm/2" builders insulation like foam with silver backing. Easy to saw and shape. Easy to screw together and easy to put in a frame with plywood on top in places where you need to.

Ive used the silver bubble wrap type of insulation and wrapped the tank a couple of times.
Even posted a couple of vids on my you tube channel showing the temp of the tank water late night as well.
