Resin Shortage
« on: November 02, 2017, 02:42:26 pm »
Anyone know what's going on?  Seen on another forum that there is a resin shortage.  A few suppliers are out of stock and there is some panic buying going on which is creating more shortage.

Please avoid stock piling but make sure you don't leave it till the last min to order replacement resin.     I think as long as you have enough to last the rest of the year there won't be anything to worry about.

Don't panic buy! One bag will do me a year but now I'm going to buy three just in case  ;D and ten loafs of bread in case it snows!

Yes that's where I just ordered mine from. Well done to Gardeners for not being greedy and putting in place a panic buy avoidance.

I ordered a bag from another supplier earlier this week only to get a message saying they couldn't fulfill the order due to stock issues even though website it still showing in stock.

I am DI only and a good bag will last me 4 to 5 months and a bad bag 3 months.

Same thing happened to me at Window Cleaning Warehouse, really annoying.

It was with waterfedpole.com

But to be fair they did email me the next day about the stock issue offering me an alternative brand of resin or a wait for the next batch which is due next week.

I've always had a good service from them in the past.

Ah ok , Iv just ordered a sack from pure freedom online - I rang them up just now to ask why is there a shortage and he said to me that the factory in whatever country the resin is made in has moved premises. But they didn’t take in to consideration that they need to keep making it in the meantime otherwise stock levels plunge .

Ordered a bag of Canadian resin,  due to the company's policy they can't sell me Tulsion.

IMO and 14 years DI experience.... over the last 3 years or so Tulsion has been no better and in some cases worse than most other resins on the market. It almost feels like they built their reputation in the market to where it was then reduced quality on the back of it! Virtually all resin related complaints I have seen over this period have related to Tulsion's erratic and unreliable performance. I certainly wont be panick buying any Tulsion resin! ;)

There's a drought in Swaziland apparently. Limited resin mining until the weather's sorted.

If you ask a few suppliers they will probably give a different reason. My wife deals with a supplier in India and they have more excuses than a politician.

That's where I got my last bag. thought I would try it after using nothing but Tulsion for years.
Tusion started lasting half its normal time. This Unger is doing ok so far

Must be the resin that was sent for America being used to cover ours.  Supposed to be cheaper brand but does the same job.
