How does everyone get rid of there used resin . I usually have to dump 7 litres every couple of weeks , it was never a problem before . I would always change it while I was working usually down a custys drain or down a road drain . But now I am storing my bottles at home I  will have to dump it at home . I can't use the drains in the street as I blocked two of them a few years back and the neighbours weren't impressed . So what's the best way . Straight in the wheelie bin or what .

I would never pour it down the drain, I just bag it up and put it in the bin

I keep the bags that the resin comes in.  When it's spent, I tip the water from the vessel down the drain until it gets to the discoloured bit. The rest I tip into the empty resin bag, double wrap it in bin bags, and put it out with the household rubbish.

Same as above. No way down the drain.  Just double bag strong 10p supermarket carriers bags and throw in the bin. Works for my 11tre disposals fine

I just drain and dry it , then pour it through bad payers letterboxes , its fantastic seeing them get home from work and go right on their arses in the hallway

But when you try empty the bottle . The resin sticks to the inside and you have to fill it with water to rinse it all out , you can't put that in your bin . It will be swimming . Plus it stinks .

Is there some environmental instructions on the packaging. The manufactures should tell you how to dispose of it in the correct way.

Not down the drain ffs. The fish are having a bad enough time with all the plastic floating about.
I have specially made 20kg bags that have hundreds of perforations for the water to drain out and use them for gutters, moss removal and the odd bag of resin.

There is sometimes a little spent resin left on the sides.  I use a 25 litre and a 13 (I think) litre vessels in-line after the RO.  So a little stuck resin won't be a problem with its effectiveness. I do ensure that I clear the threads for a good seal.
I have the 25 litre vessel as second in line. I've only just changed that after a few years because I change the first one as soon as the water reaches the same TDS as the RO output.  However, RO output is about 020  (tap TDS 200ish) these days so I will have to consider a new membrane at some point (current membrane has been in about 7 years, I think).  At the moment I'm fine with buying resin a bit more often. I'm not sure what the TDS should be before I change the membrane - perhaps around 40 would be about right.  I do run it to waste for a few minutes after start-up in order to reduce resin use.

I empty mine into a pillow case and hang it till dry and then it goes in household waste.

when im changing my bottles i disconnect them from the van then turn it upside down for a few mins to allow all the water to run out of them then take lid off bag it all up and any tiny bits of remnants left inside just wash out then fill with fresh water about half way before i fill with fresh resin.
the old resin as others say just bag up and put it in the bin,never down the drain though.
ive heard people use the sack bags you get from the likes of gardiner when u order resin from them but personally turning the di upside down for a few mins to drain off works fine for me.
