fancy a change
« on: October 23, 2017, 02:41:24 pm »
i added two more pencil jets to my gardiners compact 12" brush because I wanted a better flow delivery.

I screwed it up and the jets isn't firing straight.

I really want a better flow delivery, I like Nathans 14" brush with 6 jets. I also like the look of the constructor brush but reckon it could be pita for cleaning top frames although I love the water sheet effect it gives.

I like the look of them Bissell rinse bars but would be the same situation as the constructor brush.Besides I cant get hold of one and need to order a new brush tonight.

What's people using currently?

Any recommendations??

Whats good about the 6 jets with streamline is that they simply twist in. So simply take them off and apply to new brush.

Xtreme natural hybrid brush + 2x 100° fans from Gardiners.
5lpm 70psi pump at full flow works well for me.
With this setup I fly through my maintenance work.
I work with a short hose. If I were to work with say 60-100mtrs of hose I would up the pressure to 100psi

What is the flow rate of the jets?

Is this question for me??
My jets i think are 1mm. I use a 8mm (id) standard microbore main hose and all weather yellow gardiner pole hose.
Van setup with a 5lpm sureflow pump 100psi pump.  I work on a flow of 80 using the purefreedom digi controller. I only use 80 to keep the temp at brush end with using hot water. If using cold I run it between 65 n 70.

That's a big + for me as I have learnt that I'm not too good at drilling through plastic brush stocks!

I am verging on getting the same brush as you Nathan, but do you find the brush too big at any point?

Where did you get the connection to connect the jets together (y piece)? and what size?

Are the bristles soft and splay easy?

Is the weight noticeably more?

I got some 100degree fans and don't like them, I have no confidence in the rinse and they're just too loud for me.

Some people do insist on making a simple job difficult.  :D
It's a game of three halves!

i cant be arsed messing about anymore with  WFP equipment.i just use  standard brushes with 2 pencil jets for most work.sometimes i use fan jets but thats it.i keep it simple.no rinse bars,no fancy brushes,no hot water.

i still earned £264   on maintenance window cleaning today working 830am-230pm including 30 mins for lunch.im happy with that.
price higher/work harder!

Agree.

I stick to 3mm jets, better flow.

If you want really good flow you need wider pole hose and 3mm jets.

3mm works well for me with the controller on 90.

2mm jets splash too much, so less water tricking down the window. I prefer the 3mm size for risnsing and flow.

Fan jets I find pants. Doesn’t rinse fast enough.

But in the end, I agree with Daz. You get to a point where you realise all this trying out of new bits and bobs really doesn’t make much of a difference in the long run.

The key to window cleaning is putting the brush to the window and getting on with it  ;D

 You get the idea  ;D

Try 3mm jets and wider pole hose, there’s only so much water the pump can push through 5mm hose, regardless of how many jets you have.

Ive always used heavy brushes as I cant get on with the light ones; they feel like toy brushes to me. So i cant really answer that question but i have no problem doing 2nd floor height windows with it.

The width of the brush for my windows is great. On some small windows like the one in my vid about trickle vents. I can clean the frames and window on the same pass.
On some windows it fits nicely into the window itself. It makes light work of big windows as well.

The connections are "X" connections 6mm.
So i can join 3 jets to one supply of water.

The bristles are soft it doesnt splay as easy as the gardiner ones which virtually splay straight away. But I personnally think thats a good thing. Its dual trimmed and the inner bristles do their job.
