RPM of a Shurflo pump ?
« on: October 21, 2017, 08:32:14 pm »
Anybody know what it is at max speed , i only ask as i have been having a mess around in the shed again  ::)roll
I saw a few vids on stoopidtube the other day regarding turning DC motors into generators , as i had a spare not so good pump in the pile i thought i would have a play around , i took the pump assembely off and whacked a drill on the shaft of the motor  to see what it would put out in the way of volts .
I got a rather good result of 14.6 volts which is bang on for charging purposes , kind of what you want from a vehicle alternator with the advantage of not having the van running all day , this is where the problem pops its head up , i had to crank the drill up to 3000 RPM to achieve it .
The 2 hurdles are .......  1 . I really dont think that the pump goes anywhere near that !
                                                2 . I think i may have welded up the bearings   ;D ;D ;D

I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

The voltage is the carrier, but its the amps output that determines how fast the battery will be charged.

Engine audio output is how the Formula 1 teams 'spy' on their competitors. They can also tell exactly how an engine is performing using audio.

How about this?

Not everything! I've looked on Play Store numerous times and I can't find one that will knock 20 years off my life.  ;D
