Promoting Addon Services
« on: October 19, 2017, 05:56:44 pm »
So now that i have a full time employee helping me whilst im on the sick so to speak, i'm trying to bring in other work to top up the round because my employee wants 40 hours a week, and i've only been working 30 hours a week of windows.  I am bringing more window cleaning work in, working towards 40 hours but that will take a few months to build the round up.

Until then i am taking on as many Conny Roofs, Gutter Clearing and FSG Cleaning jobs to top up the rounds.  This week we have £750 of addon jobs alone booked in which is really good as they pay well too.  As a general rule though i dont do alot of Addon Jobs previously, going forward though i'm keen to do more.  Especially on days where its windy or rainy, could have a backlog of jobs ready to be done.

How can i get more addon jobs, out of my existing window cleaning customers?  Should i tell every customer in person that we do addons and provide free quotes?  Or should i design a flyer telling them all regular customers get 10% off FSG/Gutters/Conny Roof jobs?  Or even i could text a load of my customers saying we currently have 10% of all addon jobs throughout the winter?

What do you think guys, whats the best way to let customers know that i dont just clean windows.  Need to promote addons without being too in their face and pushy like a desperate salesman!  LOL

Throw me ideas people  ;D ;D ;D ;D

flyers sounds good, you can just hand em out and let em mill it over.

its nothing pushy and saves you a lot of explaining about prices etc

Discounts for customers is a good idea, I would offer discounts for repeat work too. So if they have something done twice per year it benefits them and you.

In my previous sales jobs it was repeatedly drilled into me to upsell upsell upsell!

People need to be TOLD. I have it on all my windows cleaned cards etc.. But the most effective way is to TELL them. Be in their face. They can only say yes or no.

Last year I text a load of customers saying we are doing our annual gutter clearing for our customers, shall I add them to our schedule, the price is £...?

They can only say yes or no. Most said yes.

Guarantee you'll increase your turnover by A LOT. We do packages for some customers, regular windows, gutters x times a year, GFS etc etc

Same as everyone else really. Obviously its on my websites, van and window cards. But if i wanted the work i would upsell and be proactive in doing so, ie I notice your gutters are a little blocked, i can sort that for you etc etc

Design a leaflet with all your add ons and put an offer on, stick these through with every other clean you do, keep it fresh in their head, do an occasional offer evry now and again

collect all their emails and send them a quarterly newsletter, or automated text every few months with a new offer.

Another thing to try is Adwords or FB ads

You need a leaflet with ALL your services on and make sure it's good.
I personally wouldn't give discounts because I think it sounds false and needy (that's just me). Having spent 25 years in advertising and marketing, I appreciate the 'attraction' that discounts can bring.
Most importantly TALK to your customers (the leaflet is just a backup).
If you do gutter clearing (the leaves have nearly fallen from the trees, not quite yet but soon)...now is the time to book them in.
Having said that my leaflet has only window cleaning on. I just talk to my custies...'if you need your soffits, gutter, fascias cleaned give me a shout'. The usual reply is 'really, I didn't know you did that, how much would it be'
You know the rest... ;D

Just get on the phone all call your clients. We call about 300 of our carpet cleaning customers every week. I have a part time lady who comes in 3 days a week and my wife does 2 days a week. We get exceptional results 20-30 extra jobs a week in. Plus we have internet, checkatrade and an ongoing leaflet distribution program.
