Claber connectors with aquastop
« on: September 17, 2017, 11:46:40 pm »
I have gone through 5 Claber connectors in less than a year. Most have only lasted a month. Hozelock have always lasted for so much longer. But Hozelock don't adapt from half inch hose to 6mm hose. The Claber ones always go the same way. They get stiffer to push on and pull off until suddenly the water flow completely stops. I kept the faulty ones to one side in case I can mend them. Has anyone else had this problem, and can they be fixed?

Don't know what pressure you're using but I've found the don't deal well with high pressure.  That and hot water combined seems to weaken the little white plastic pieces inside that the male part operates to open the valve.  Once they have broken off it will no longer operate.  I have my system shutting off at 70psi now and so far haven't broken one in quite a while.
