I bought some black diamond rubber and have the same issue. Is it the hard or soft rubber?

As the weather is changing its better to go with soft rubber this time of year as soft rubber gets stiffer in the cold and hard rubber gets softer in the warm summer months. I usualy just buy pulex and never realy get problems.

Sometimes you get a bad batch though

Just use unger hard all year round, the rest is crap.
All soft rubber is crap and sticks to the glass and leaves streaks, unless you use a very soapy mix.

Used Pullex soft for years.  However, been trying the Facelift red razrblade the last few months and been pretty impressed.

Nonsense.
Ettore is easily the best of the main contenders. Reassuringly expensive.
I've never tried the Sorbo silicone ones but they are supposedly unaffected by weather conditions, not being natural rubber.

Had some black diamond testers. Those samples I had did leave rubber marks on frames when new or when pushed too hard on deeper frames. Damaged channels will only make it more apparent.
Pulex, unger are good. Longest lasting from experience are red facelift razr blade.
