my Van died, now need some van recommendations
« on: September 14, 2017, 04:29:42 pm »
the engine got burnt after leaking engine oil. It was ford transit T260. Now I looking for something smaller. What van would you recommend that can hold a decent sized water tank?

I'm hoping to put in a 600 liter  water tank but I want something smaller than Ford Transit T260.

Please advice.

T260 was probably over weight with a 600L tank in it anyway

Look at a dispatch if you want a smaller van, although it all depends on how much you want to spend
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

If you're on a budget, Fiat Doblo Maxi , decent wee van with a 1000kg payload.

ford transit connect L2 240 1.5 TDCI(120ps)limited (936kg payload)you might be pushing it with a 600l tank.ideal for a 500L though.poles fit in tubes without having to cut into the bulkhead.very large side door.air con, bluetooth, heated windscreen and mirrors, parking sensors, heated drivers seat and plenty of storage space in the cab.the roof is slightly lower than the old shape high roof connects so easier to get ladders off when needed. :)
price higher/work harder!

Depends on budget.

I have a partner with a 500 tank.  850 payload.

For a 600 tank I would look at expert/dispatch 2.0 1000kg not the older ones with an 825 payload.

What's your budget ?

Peugeot Expert 2.0 litre.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Strange statement to make. Expert/dispatch is one of the more widely used vans and has a decent payload. Had my dispatch 2.0hdi from new (nearly 12 years old) and has been a great van.

They are great vans.
I feel safer in a bigger stronger van. Stronger chassis, brakes and usually wider.
The same with motorbikes. You can do the job on a 250 but I like the power of my 1400 :)

Never looked at it that way. One advantage of dispatch is that it easier to park, a Transit would not fit on my driveway (too wide). Am guessing dispatch is more fuel efficient.

My brother in law is a builder and he always goes for a Transit.

I have a 62 plate dispatch it's a nice size van, the only thing I would say is go for the 2.0 litre I  have the 1.6 and it doesn't seem to have much go In it I would say the 2.0 is just a fuel efficient or better then mine as it wouldn't be working as hard, I fill mine up £82 and I get just over 500 miles

the lads like the transit much better , extra space , higher drivers seat , they use the passenger seat as a work desk while stood out side the van when doing paper work and can have a nap across the seats when raining ,  you also jump out of them not claim up out of them to easyer on the driver

we replaced one of the old 10 plate mk7s with a caddy trendline on a 66 plate and he hates it big time , to the point hes now back in the old transit also there much more of a work horse and design to take a bit more of a beating , there not cars with a extra bit welding on
