Looks a good job.
The thing that puts me off with going through the floor is the need to disconnect the pole hose from the main hose so you can put the brush away and drive to the next job. Rather than trapping the hose in the van door.
Or can you still do that? But risk the hose dangling under vehicle??
(Asking as this is what troubles my thoughts when deciding what to do, so keen to know how you get on)

I would agree with you, it looks like either a swivel elbow or hard plumb it in and that would give space to move the reel over enough.

Lol its one thing ive now learnt that its not a simple case of amending one thing, it always leads to more work or in my case more hassle  (but well worth it)

The hose fits under the door so plan is to reel in, put brush back in then close door.

I think I will put some sort of clip on the reel to stop it spinning between jobs.

No I could lock the van doors before whilst working over the hose but it meant pulling off all the hose then going back to van and locking doors. Or pulling off all hose into a pile then locking door, meaning you end up with not enough or too much hose out and often tangles.

It also means I can pull out at slightly better angles and not scrape the hose on the doors.

Will see how it works in action but idea is pull pole out lock doors then I'm away.

Will see today if it's any quicker in practice

Efficiency is key.

I've got a similar setup and it can't be beaten in speed while maintaining security of a locked van.

My new vans central locking doesn't lock the front doors if the back door is open, so while I'm round the back of a property I like to know my van and contents are secure.

After a couple of days use i can conclude It is indeed a bit easier/more efficent than before.

Its not a game changer, but every little helps.

A 2017 Renault trafic sport!

It is a bit pap to be honest that when you hit the central locking button it doesn't just lock what it can, I could use the key and manually go to the front doors and do it, but I'd always be forgetting.

14k plus vat with delivery mileage. Can't beat it for the price.

Sl29 sport with sat nav, parking sensors, reversing camera, alloys etc.

Love it so far, plus I've got 4 years warranty and rac cover for peace of mind. Hopefully I don't need to use either though.  :o

Really?

Where you based?

I'm in Scotland and when I chose my name 10 years ago there was just one other down in London that was a bit different.

Aslong as we're not too close. 😂

It was Renault Romford.

Can't fault them to be honest. The sl29's are harder to come across as they've got the bigger payload, but I'm sure they could track one down for you.

Through the floor hose guides and bracket mounted hose guides x2 fitted modified/fabricated petal style hose reels to give 400mm clearance for 100 metre of microbore on each hose reel and brackets fitted to the van floor which hold the reels rigid in place but quick release for removing from the van.

I'm going to have side bar/brace fitted to each reel to give extra strength and then powder coating the brackets and lower parts of the reels next week to prevent corrosion.

We have been using them for two days and all seems to be working efficiently and smoothly.

Generally happy with them but may have a closer look at the new reels Grippatank are releasing in November if I think they'll take up less space in the vans.

^looks like the same thing I've done but I'll bet a fair old wedge more expensive.

Having worked with mine for a week I'm actually thinking about going back to how it was before.

I'm finding that when pulling the hose off sometimes it causes the reel to spin too fast and create loops which then snag.
When this happens the coils become looser which then makes pulling out the hose quite hard as it snags on itself. Reset the hose and all works nicely but was still getting the issue a few times during the day and it was annoying me.

Also the angles are not much better as you snag the tyre if trying to pull out more than 90 degrees.

Looking at you pic above Simon it looks as though your reels are doing the same, the coils don't look tight. How you finding it?
