004 TDS
« on: June 13, 2006, 09:14:58 am »
Hello All,

At the end of last week my TDS reading out of the RO/DI units was 001... I left it thinking its ok i'll change my resin over the weekend. I went to change it yesterday and it was reading 004, and my stored water in the water butt was also at 004.

Do you reckon I should use the water for cleaning windows and just rinse a bit more, or will it cause me problems?

Cheers, Andy.

Andy,  The water is fine at 4ppm, you can use it with a reading much more than that before you would ever see spotting on the glass.  No need to rinse any more than usual either.

I was cleaning with water at 006 until yesterday without any problems.  I'm back on 000 again now though as I've got a few first cleans coming up.  I don't know if I was told correctly but I understand that a climbing TDS is not such a good idea on first cleans.
