Hi guys.
I am a returning user.
It's been probably around a decade since I last lurked on here.

I have been using one of Pete Fogwells Salmon mug ups or a long long time... probably 13 years 

I feel a bit like trigger out of Only Fools and Horses.

Anyhow I now would like to change it....

Does anyone know where I can pick one up and I can fit the jets in it myself.?

Or do any of the suppliers sell anything similar?

I dont want to buy the Autobrush Pete does as I don't like the mechanism.

Have never heard of the gear you speak of, l guess a lot has changed.

Go to gardiner pole systems and there you will find everything thats up to date, tried and tested.

It seems to be the the most popular stuff, l myself love the stuff.

The autobrush. That was out of the Ark!!


I had one for a good while, very very stiff bristles but the ability to turn your water flow off was a miraculous concept. You might find them on the Antiques Roadshow if you want one.

I bet you had a Gaz swivel too , proper ground breaker that badboy !

I would say you could get a Gardiner Superlite medium mix or ultimate medium mix (bit lighter) and be on the money , pencil or fan as you require , or modify for your chosen jets .

I also still use the original microbore  made by Winspray. It hasn't worn out so need to upgrade.  I have posted a pic below. It was discontinued due to its colour.

I just had a quick look at Gardiner.. Looks like plenty choose from.

A gardiner ultimate brush will do you just fine but if you insist you can still actually buy salmon brushes. Check out hillbrush.com

So hold on a minute, do you mean you've been using the same brand of brush for at least 11 years, or you have used the same brush for at least 11 years?
If it's the later then that's insane.

together and the bristle splay leaves a gap in the middle, looks like I have another Item to add my collection of barely used wfp
items gathering dust in the garage.

If the jets didn't leak I would keep using it.

together and the bristle splay leaves a gap in the middle, looks like I have another Item to add my collection of barely used wfp
items gathering dust in the garage.

Weirdly I find its my favourite brush of choice at the moment.very much like the standard SL but lighter.you can rinse on the glass and it's OK on leaded too.a good all a rounder for standard work IMO.

The stock has seen better days but wow those bristles look surprisingly good for a brush that old.
The only brush I have ever got any sort of longevity from is the xline mono. My current one is about 8 months old but is just starting to curl at the edges.
Does foggy still these brushes?

Hi mate, no I don't.

N ot long after I started I was working inside while a mate was pooling the outside. I couldn't believe how noisy he was, bashing his pole off the sides of the window reveals. I tend to try and not do that, ( not suggesting that others do) but maybe that little bit of tlc has helped prolong the brush? I dunno.

Thanks, that link looks old... the prices haven't changed anyhow.
I might email him, it will only take a year or two for him to reply though 

So... If I don't go the diy route I need something the same size with can jets and, crinkly bristles, something which will allow me to rinse on the glass..

Have you tried the extreme natural bristle?

I always felt extremes were poor, but I'm finding this does the job very nicely.
